One more video from myself for crash contest.
I was wearing my google when it was started to dive. Hovewer, why FY20 didn't do its task, I don't know. Maybe it was too windy.
I pulled the elevator a bit hard and I fond my self on the ground. Spectators told me the wings were folded due to high G.
You can see the shadow of the plane after wings were folded at the last seconds of video.
For the future I decided to fly with a wing, FALCON. Unfortunately Istanbu is so windy for Skywalker.
Cheers,

Death of Skywalker (3 min 51 sec)

About one month ago I maidened my Skywalker, but as I mentioned here before the airplane behaved strangely as it gained some speed on a shallow dive....

Watch in HD, as the numbers on the OSD are really small.

I dont think it's tail flutter. Too few rubber bands plus increased speed equals leading edge of wing pulling up causing instant stall. I have had my Skywalker over 60 mph with no adverse effects. I bolt my wing on and have no structural modifications to the tail of my plane.

I havent had time to read this very lengthy but informative thread, but im hoping you guys can answer a few questions.

Is the 2nd version with the update wing the newest model? Is there more than one model to choose from or are all models the updated wing?

Does the skywalker require glassing or carbon rods, or is it ok to fly as is?

Thanks, matt

Same As rsowder - Bolted wing and no reinforcement on tail.
I measured 115km/h with my EagleTree logger.

When I go at crazy speed I fly very carefully and make small adjustments. I don't do it for longer periods either as I don't want to burn my equipment.

Webdr - At the build stage I would put a couple of extra carbon rods in.

I was flying my skywalker today (8th or 9th flight) and my motor mount with the motor came off mid flight.... I was shooting some kitesurfing people at the time and i was very lucky that it didin't fall in the sea. I realised it immidietly and killed throttle so it doesn't rip off the rest of the plane. Nothing that can't be fixed easily and a broken lsd camera dispay was the damages.

Can you elaborate a little? Does it bow in flight with the current Version 3 with the extra carbon rod already installed? Are people snapping wings?
Thanks\Matt

Hey guys,

Since I only own a bunch of 4s 4500mAh Lipos I really want to use these (of course)

I tried to follow up a bit on all this engine stuff and I came up with this engine for a 4s Lipo and 9x6 prop:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Eq_2820_.html

Is this one the 'right' one then?

another question:
At this moment I own thisone:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=4916

It's made(specs) for a 3S lipo max the specs says.
Since it gives a LOT of power on a 4S Lipo is it harmfull I do fly with it on 4S and make sure not giving full thrust?

Is the only bad thing heat-buildup if you give too much power(Volts)?

thanks!

Thanks

It is a pity that, for those of us that just use an HD cam for FPv and not a go pro for recording can't find a high quality very clear canopy.

I just prefer a sleeker more slippery model so I can cruise around consuming fewer Amps.
That is a more urgent upgrade than a foam nose IMO. j

UK skywalker canopy

The canopy that came with my v2 skywalker had one of the corners missing but I'd really like to have one on for aesthetic reasons. If anyone has an undamaged one they're not planning on using and would be willing to post to an address in Cumbria please PM me and let me know how much you'd take for it.

Cheers.

Colin.

A speed up video of my 6.5 mile out flight from this weekend with my SkyWalker. Total flight time was<30 minutes and just over 3000mA consumed from my 5000mA flight pack. The video is compressed 32x so it clips by pretty quick.
