True, there is a potential for noise to be generated by the switching-type converters. This is true for the step-up, and the UBEC which is also an DC-to-DC converter.

I'm using the 7A Turnigy UBEC, which seems to be pretty low noise. (tested on the scope here.)

The 3A Turnigy UBEC is also supposed to be good, and is the one Sander prefers.

I think this was addressed but not sure...if your VTx is a 12v then you can power it directly from the RVOSD without the need of anything else.

Thanks, AdamChicago.

The VTx is a Lawmate running at 12V. However the EzOSD provides either 5V for a VTx, or you provide the power if you need 12V. It would be cool if it had 12V out, like the RVOSD.

How many C's would be recommended for a average powered Skywalker. I want a 5000mah pack... 20C, 25C, 30C?

At 20C with a 5Ah lipo you can pull 100 A (20*5). So 20c is more than fine.

Thanks man! I'll keep that formula in mind. I'm not sure how it works out though. To me, the mah is the mount of petrol the tank can hold... So how does a tank with more capacity, effect the C (Which I am not sure what that represents, but I thought it was how tough a battery is...).

Wait, this is way off topic, so let me add ... Anyone else flying 500mah packs in their Skywalkers ?

The C rating in your example would be the nozzle of the tank. If you keep the size of the tank and the size of the nozzle proportionally the same then when you scale up the size of the tank the size of the nozzle will also be bigger. C rating is just basically how much you can pull out of a battery at an instant as it relates to the total capacity of the battery.

Exactly right it is how large of a diameter fuel line to an engine. A 20 C is plenty. Any larger would be like putting slicks on a model T.
