I went with 15 because its pretty thick, if you go too thin its not really strong enoungh and will crack really easy. The technique is pretty straight forward, stretch the tights over, pin it to the fuse where you want. Apply a thin coat, wait 1 hour between coats till your happy. You can then use alomst any paint you want if you wanted custom paintwork because your no longer spraying onto the foam anymore

WBPU is as described here;
"It's quite simply what you know as water based paint, sold in all hardware stores and a lot of larger supermarkets and stores" http://www.pldaniels.com/flying/bals...yurethane.html It does gets yellow when aged... |

Jaybee's Skywalker FPV Wiring Diagram
Hey, all,
I'm currently sorting out the wiring on my Skywalker, looking to eliminate ground loops and such. I've drawn a diagram of the current setup, if it can be of use to anyone with a similar setup. ![]() Also welcoming suggestions and/or feedback. ![]() Jaybee! |

I use a 3014-1220KV with 9x4.5 on 4S and 9x7.5 on 3S, so I have to change the prop when I switch batteries - probably not ideal. I also have to add that I did not maiden mine yet but the props were selected based on the Scorpion data chart from their website and should provide the most thrust for the required setup. I think it will be difficult to find a setup that will be efficient on both 4S and 3S without changing at least one other component (prop being the cheapest and easiest).

Ultimate SW Wing Mod
If you guys want your SW main wing to survive anything, the mod I did survived 100mph spiraling dive into Lake Michigan with NO DAMAGE!
Mod: - Run two wooden spars (no CF to cause RF problems and no fiberglass because its too hard to find) across the top of each left and right wings about 3 inches apart from fuselage to wingtip (wings still remain in left and right halves for easy breakdown for transport) - Run several strips of fibertape across the bottom of the wings from fuselage to wingtip - Epoxy aluminum inserts into stock CF spars (almost full length of spars) The fiber tape prevents the wing from bending upward while the wooden spars prevent the top of the wing from compressing in. And the aluminum inserts further support the CF spars if your SW is a little heavier or you're flying more aggressively ![]() Crash vid...again! NOTE: towards the end of the video before it is set down on the deck of the boat you can see the shadow of the SW in the water and the wings are fully intact ![]() http://www.vimeo.com/24755130 Enjoy! |

I am so sick of this over concern about weight! If you want your SW to be as light as a fricken leaf and float along that's fine, but some of us like loading the crap out of it so its fast, strong and well equipped!
The SW is a bus that can handle just about any weight as long as you've reinforced it well and have an adequate motor...I'm at 3.4kgs and loving it ![]() FYI 2x4500 4S and 1x1800 3S |
