I just discovered RCDUDE and they're awesome! They have a ton of Scorpion motors in stock and awesome customer service. I accidentally bashed a few bearings trying to push through a shaft and they took it back and refunded the total price. They got a new one out to me within 3 days!

For those who think a Scorpion 3014 is too big, I'm running a Scorpion 3020 VII 1110KV on 4S with an 11x5.5E APC and it flies great! Draws very little amps, 35ish on take-off and about 10 on cruise, and has the power when you need it. Definitely recommend major main wing re-reinforcement with this motor because the MPHs come up fast.

HD pan servo got a workout today. This sort of flying is pretty much the whole reason
I got the Skywalker, and the Hero HD and put it on a pan servo.

The Power 15 is a fantastic choice that can pump out sufficient power. Was wondering though, did you have to do any modifications to the motor mount to get it to fit properly? Thanks

I did have to raise the motor mount for the 10" prop.

Ian ! one of your best videos in my opinion ! you can fly like that for hours, amazing how versatile the skywalker can be.
I was a little surprised of your choice for a landing spot. I guess you wanted something flat-ish
Nice one !

That almost looks like Yosemite with half dome and El Cap. Neat.

Excellent video Ian. Great location but a bit busy, need to keep your eyes open. Good job.

@Ian : great video, but in germany most of the "textile-pilots" would probably kill you. Really great to see that flying together works if everybody has an eye on each other.

Broken Wing

My SW was version three with standard carbon fiber setup ie two in the middle and a third running through the dihedral. No additional spars though I suspect this might have prevented the wing breakage or if not prevent reduced the severity of the crash. No additional tape on the wing.

I did run a 6mm carbon rod up the middle of the fuse at the bottom almost to the nose which I think reduced the damage to the nose of the plane. Some of the foam is a bit twisted and mangled but nothing to loose any sleep over.

Seems as though your SW is the V3? Please confirm.
Did you do any of the CF strip reinforcements as detailed by others in this thread? Does not look like there were any additional bracing installed except for the V3 center/outer CF tube?
Any tape on the wings?

Cool flying

It would be awesome to see a FPV-plane get tangled in the lines and the pilot plummet to death (in HD of course)

EDIT:
To avoid confusion and further misunderstandings - this is 100% irony!
