I have noticed that the 4 Rubber bands included are not enough to hold the wings very securely.

I held the belly of the SkyWalker and wiggled it back and forth (side to side),,,,, I can see that the wings on the fuselage shoulder is rocking back and forth.
...I need more Rubber bands to hold the wings in place.

Where are you guys buying the same exact/or better Rubber bands? Links?
thanks :-)

Or better yet (in my opinion): has anyone done a nylon bolt mod to screw down the wings? I'm sure that someone has, or that this is a viable option. Any examples?

The 4 rubber bands have held up to everything I've thrown at em.
Loops, rolls, hard landings. The idea is you want them to hold with flight loads
and pop off if you crash, instead of breaking the wing. They do both just as they are.

The question is Where to buy them? I really do not know and would like to buy it, too. My rubber bands are already too old.

Who knows?

I just noticed that when I hold the underbelly and wiggle side to side, and I look at where the wings sit on the fuselage shoulder...the rocking back and forth causes the wings to separate from the fuselage just a bit..... I'll be more confident if I had 2 extra rubber bands, and still functions as "breaking off" during a crash.

also, where would I find these exact/or better Rubbers bands to hold our wings down?
I may loose some on the way to the field and having extras' to be safe :-)

I inherrited some of Tim the Toolmans genes. I can't leave well enough alone, even when simple works better.

I have started a nylon bolt mod. It remains unfitted at this stage . The mod is easy, ply braces glued to the CF rods with blind nuts. Large nylon washes and ply plate imbedded in the top wing surface. It's easy but not any lighter. I cut the parts because I wanted to reduce unnecessary drag. I also have made a brace for E-flite retracts similar to F-16 mounting so the track is wider than the fuse when the gear is down. Again it si not fitted yet as I have had not time at home to work on it and having decent FPV is a higher priority than my streamlining mods. J

Which prop for my motor ?

I'm about to get this Scorpion SII-3014-1040 motor, and I going to use a Turnigy Plush 60amp ESC with it. But would a prop like the APC 9x6E Pusher Prop be a good choice

Hey van, do you have the specs of your homemade mount from awhile ago?

I was looking for people who use DL and DOSD so I could get an idea of where to place everything and saw your mount and really liked it. -Tyler

Are you planning 3s or 4s?? Prop is good for 4s but I would go bigger prop if staying with 3. I expect the esc will be fine for 4s if it has decent cooling. J

How big a Lipo are you using ?

I have set my mind on a 4 s Lipo, but I' not sure how many mAh I should choice. Would 4s 5000 mAh give me about 30 minutes in the air ? I'm not going to fly WOT all the time, but just some easy flying around.
