It's the stock antenna on Hitec 2.4Ghz receivers.
It does appear to provide better range than the typical whip that most 2.4Ghz Rxs sport, but
that's no huge surprise given basic antenna theory. Some people make their own, or can
be bought as replacements for other brand Rxs.

I meant the above as flattery...please take it that way. You have a lot of great answers and I have probably learned more from your posts than any other.

You want it to come down at arond 8fps. A smaller chute will cause damage on impact with the ground. Ask me how I know this The way I have it setup, I can give it throttle to steer it to where I want it to land.

But if you're in an "emergency" situation you may well have no throttle control... or any other control for that matter.

What is that thing stuck to the outside of the left fuselage door?
Are the second antenna BODA from Hitec Optima 9 Rx.

If you look again, you will see one antenna on the right side, and another (left fuselage door) on the left side.

One horizontal position, and another in vertical position.

Thanks for comment

CG should be around 30mm behind the servo wires.
That works very well.

I'm just doing this for fun, not for practical perposes. So, I would prefer not to damage my plane on impact with the ground.

Ah, that's a WHOLE different story then. In that case, your chute works great!

your propeller is mounted incorrectly. the lettering on the propeller should be at the front of the plane.
try to turn it round. it will give you twice as much thrust...
