De Havilland DH 2 / AIRCO DH 2 /AMC DH 2 scale 1:5,33 , Peter Neate drawing.

Orginally designet for a 0,60 /10 ccm two stroke engine. I want to use a 1200 watt outrunner and 6 cells lipo.

Scale is 1:5,33.

I remember this plan well, the original is from the 70's or maybe even earlier - it used metal tubing for the booms. Good to see an old 'classic' plan being electrified. Keep the pics coming.

This is looking very nice indeed. What stain did you use to get the wood effect on the struts?

Thanks.
My english is not very good so I am not really sure what you mean.
The struts is made of piano wire in the middle, and then spruce is glued on, and then stained with Herdins stain color 712 "Gyllenbrun". In english something like golden brown.

Your English is excellent and you answered my question perfectly The stain colour looks very realistic.

Wow, your DH-2 is outstanding. I love the detail work and the wheels. I can only imagine that amount of work you have been putting into this project. Looks big... what is the size? I built the Mike Roach DH-2 so I know the lines well. You nailed it. Excellent job.

The wing span is 63,5 in/161 cm. I was flying my Mike Roach DH-2 early today, and take a video of it.
Video 1: De Havilland / AIRCO DH 2 scale 1/9 . Mike Roach plan. (5 min 19 sec)

Here is a better video with a camera man.

Very nice work. We can't let this build get buried in the back pages of the forum.

More work on wing tank DH 2

The fitting is done. Little more filling and sanding before painting.
