Hi,

Is there a list somewhere of very lightwight HD cams with live AV out (SD) so that one can use one high quality cam for FPV view as well as recording? Ive seen alot of people are happy with the GOPRO HD setup but at 200+ grams i was still hoping that there might be something even lighter than this. I bascially want to get a nice picture quality for FPV and also have the option to record at a higher quality than what i see in FPV. Sub 200 grams would rock.

If im missing the discussion where this is already covered, please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

93 grams and composite video out. Question is whether it can do live video out when not recording and also while recording. Could probably decase this and remove the lcd screen and get it even lighter.

Hmm... i think i might have been wrong about the GoPro HD... it seems its under 100 grams as well and much better quality i think.

Here's an existing thread on the Ativa cam that I have been using on my Wing Dragon. Takes HD video and is quite lightweight. And it only costs $89 right now at your local Office Depot.

I have try a lot of cameras.
The go pro HD is great quality and small weight but have a very wide angle lens.
With a trick (giving VDC to USB connector) you will have video out during recording.

Other cameras for FPV with video out during recording (used on my quadcopters) are:

Samsung NV24 - 720p - great wide lens- 120 grams - very affected by vibrations - ccd sensor
Cmos sensor:
Camileo S10 - 1440x1080 - a quite zoom lens - 130 grams - difficult shape
Camileo S10 with only essential parts no battery- 30 grams
Camileo H20 - 1440x1080 - optical zoom - 260 grams - easy shape
Camileo H20 - with only essential parts battery - 130 grams
Sony Webbie - 1440xq080 a quite zoom lens - 110 grams - easy shape- the lens can be easely modify for nick movement

Camileo and Sony webbie may take benefit by additionnal wide angle lens

I have a GoProHD on order, but can't help giving the Webbie a second look. The picture quality seems comparable, but with Webbie at almost 1/3 the price I could buy a few for crash replacement.

Thanks for the tips......have managed to pick up a Sony Webbie on Ebay cheap. Definitely won't feel bad strapping that to my quadcopter.

the Sony Webbie have as far as I remember, video output active also with no recording active, but I will check it when I return home this evening.

Video out is on all the time, recording or not.

Beware that it shuts down after being in active for a while. For that reason, when I use it as my flight camera, it is always filming. It will do so for at least 15 minutes (the longest I've done so).

I pulled the trigger on two of the Webbie from ebay just for this reason, one as a back up.

Does anyone know if the 2nd Gen. Vado HD has video out while on or filming so a TX can be connected? And has anyone tried hacking one to make it a smaller for factor or just change the angle of the lense?
