I was about to go to my LHS today to see if there is anything 50+ inches Edge or Extra to buy and here it is one from E-flight. Lets see when the shipping starts. Fingers crossed.

I hope the same. Have E-flight Sukhoi 26M 480 and the landing gear ply was weak. With small modification and with some Gorilla glue that piece is now the strongest piece in the whole plane. :-)

I was very much looking to get a 3DHS 51" AJ Slick but I guess now I have to wait. It's a nice move from E-flight/Horizon to jump into this size market.

You read this post, and you know my opinion, but I think I will reserve my opinions until such time as I actually see one of the planes.

I'm still betting that the EF 48" Extra 300 EXP is a better performer..

Which motor will you guys prefer to put in the E-flight Extra, an E-flight Power 32 or a Hacker A30-12XL? Will it be an over kill to put an E-flight Power 46 motor?

Unfortunately, E-flite motors can be rather "hit or miss". You can not push them like you can a Hacker, if you overheat them, they are toast. I fly quite a few Hacker motors, and even the folks at Hacker will tell you they are under-rated, you can push them much harder than what the specs say, so if you are adamant about going with the Extra 300, I would go with the Hacker.

No Doubt.

E-flite with so many resources never paid attention to parkflyers and now they want to jump in....Late Late Late Show.

I don't think thay you might get the Performance with the above,,, Yes with the Slick and the Extra 300 don't wait for the E-flite.

I surely know yours and other people's opinion which I respect. As you said you, others and myself will be in a better position to compare this with a Slick or Extra 300 EXP after we see the plane. I hope Horizon is uploading a video soon. I expect a fair amount of 3D aerobatic performance from this bird.

Not an eflite defender but the statement "They never paid attention to parkflyers" is crazy talk.

Mini FuntanaX
Mini Showtime
Edge 540
Brio 10
Extra 260 480
etc etc
These, by definition are Parkflyers.

For those flaming on a plane they haven't even seen, built, tested and flown is also folly.

AND its a sure bet, that even if this new plane can't compete with a 3DHS kit of similar size, this Eflite will outsell anything from 3DHS and EF combined due to the sheer size and weight of Horizon's marketing muscle.
