http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=EFL4125

Extra 300 32e ARF
Specs
Wingspan: 52.5 in (1335mm)
Overall Length: 49.0 in (1245mm)
Wing Area: 542 sq in (34.9 sq dm)
Flying Weight: 4.40–4.60 lb (1.90–2.10 kg)

CG (center of gravity): 3.5 - 3.875 in (90 - 98mm) back from LE closest to the fuse

Looks really nice. I like the size. Seems to be geared more towards precision flying, although it says unlimited 3D as well.

Waiting for John Redman to chime in and tell us how it flies. Hope this one is at Toledo.

Yes, definitely a great looking airplane. I really like the fact it has some great moments and should fly some great IMAC precision style aerobatics. The control surfaces look very scale and don't seem to be excessively oversized like most 3D specific airplanes. I'm sure it will 3D but I agree precision aerobatics will probably be it's strong suit for most pilots.

It also has some really cool features that I have not seen in other ARF kits to date.

It looks just like a mini version of the 43% Carden Extra 300 that most are flying with DA-200's. Glad to see E-flite and Mike decided to make one a little more affordable for the rest of us common folk.

Tim

BTW - I really think the David Michaels color scheme looks fantastic!!

Yeah that paint scheme is really nice. The more I look at this plane the more I want one. I'm trying to figure out what kind of an A123 setup I could go with. The plane is listed @ 4.4-4.6 lbs which means the Power 32 @ 800W puts it right in the 175W/lb range. I think anything from 750W-1000W should pull it along nicely.

It's pretty obvious that it's a Carden Extra shrunk down to large parkflyer size. Very cool, I like it.

I like it too, but I don't think this one is considered a park flyer. I have seen smaller nitro planes with 60's on them. This is a club sized model and that's why I like it. Of course if you are into 3D you could fly it anywhere, but I'm going the precision route.

New video...

Extra 300 32e ARF by E-flite - Horizon Hobby (1 min 42 sec)

Looks like a sweet flying plane. I think I have to have one of these. The Hyperion Extra 40e is also a consideration for less money, but this looks like a really nice plane and something about it just grabs me. I think it has more of a scale outline and that appeals to me.

I am stunned by the lack of interest in this model.... I thought it looked like a home run myself. Maybe once people start flying them?

Really nice looking. I think the lack of interest right now might have something to do with the down economy and the multitude of planes available.

I have plenty on the shelf waiting to be built and I am being very choosey about new projects right now.

True........ I also think you will see more interest in this plane once it becomes available to the public and people start flying them. Personally I like the fact of a pure IMAC small/mid-sized electric aerobatic airplane. There are plenty of very good dedicated 3D planes on the market not sure this one needs to compete with them.

You guys aren't alone. I am very interested in this plane too. I suspect others are as well, but are waiting to see how it performs. I have one on back order now and can't wait for it to arrive. It appears to me to be a super sized version of the Eflite Extra 260 park flyer, a long time favorite of mine. Will follow up when I get my hands on the new one.

I think it's funny how the post in the 3D section is getting all the traffic for this plane. I posted it here because it is a precision plane not 3D... Oh well. I can't wait to wring one out.

You are correct. I think it must have been moved at some point. I'm pretty sure it started out in 3D. Anyways, I guess I posted this in the wrong spot. This thread was started a couple hours earlier on the same day, but has been pretty much ignored. I'll probably just let this one die on the vine since the other thread has all the traffic.
