Just switched to my DX7, and got it trimmed up and flying this morning. Took the rubber grommets from the training gear, and used them to space down the landing gear, so the battery brace doesnt touch the main shaft.

This little bird is a hoot to fly.

One thing I did notice if anyone has any thoughts, is the swash plate servo arms seem to lightly graze the canopy body opening. Doesnt seem to have any impact, but I cant believe its helping anything either.

Maybe tonight I'll switch to the CF tail boom.
I had that on mine, ever so slightly on the right side. (And I could see it binding. Did not take but a slight touch to make it happen). What I ended up doing was just to trim about 1/8" off the total top and its perfect now.

This is a video of what's happening when i go full throttle the top motor cuts in and out. So when its assembled and on the ground i cant hit full throttle just a little throttle and it spins clock wise.

As well-engineered, but minimal as this heli already is, I would not be for chopping out ANY bracing or support on it, anywhere. On the huge metal helis, sure they do have extra junk, and might be hugely overbuilt, but this thing is already so 'optimized' and light, that I would not want to remove any part that might be needed to contribute to structural integrity.

Again the grommet-on-the-pin fix seems to me to be a pretty darn good fix, and with minimal downside - the slight possibility of losing your skids, only if they are too loose and you also fail to put some adhesive on them.
The battery holder and skids offer NO structural integrity to this heli.

Besides.......when you crash you are only crashing 1 ounce of weight. Removing a peice of plastic that is so small that you need tweezers to pick it up afterwards will in no way negatively effect the heli.

And were not even talking about cutting completely through the center brace. Just a little nick out of it.

It looks like your bottom collar bushing is loose. Check the screw.

Funny that they wasted the material putting that bar in there....

THAT material I removed weighs like 1/100th of a gram...and the bar is still there doing what it's supposed to do (reinforce the battery holder).

ARE YOU SERIOUS MAN?!

Cheese.....

Motor cutting out could be a bad connection, bad motor or Bad ECS.
Check the motor wires and make sure they are not pinched or damaged and that the connector is completely connected to the ECS.
I worked on a MCX2 that came from the factory with the motor wire pinched between the motor and mainframe.

If you don't see anything obvious swap the two motor connectors at the ECS board. If the problem follows the motor you have a bad motor.
If the motor that was previously working fine now cuts out you have a bad ECS.

The battery holder and skids offer NO structural integrity to this heli.
When offered two options - hack away at what is already a minimalist chassis structure, versus providing a simple spacer to prevent possible interference; to most people, the preferred (and tested!) solution is obvious.

Link to original vid describing problem and fix:

Two stills from vid, and two from my own heli:

The ECS (Electronic Control System) does more than just control motor speed.
It includes control electronics for Gyro, mixer, servos, receiver & motor speed.
Blade Calls it the 5 in 1 board.

Sorry, I meant the outer shaft retaining collar. Page 29 in the manual, part # 020. It looked like it was slipping but, the vid could have been playing tricks with these old eyes

Mike.
