Ok thanks guys. Does the CF tail boom help with the cooling of the motors?

I would say it wouldn't hurt. The regular tail boom does more or less encase the entire back area and the cf tail boom would leave the entire back area open to air.

Probably helps a little, but far less than a metal frame (which reportedly keep the motors barely warm as opposed to too-hot-to-touch).

Where do you get a metal frame?

Microheli parts... they have a website but other sites sell their cnc aluminum stuff too... your LHS might even stock them.

Greetings all. Moving up from the Scout. My MCX2 (And Phoenix flight sim) is on the way. What's the consensus/thoughts on using the DX5e transmitter (That comes with the Phoenix flight sim) with the MCX2? Any tips or suggestions (Using the DX5e)? Thanx.

Cheers,

Mark

Mark, I don't know about the 5e but I'm using the 4e with my mCX2 and there's a hidden Expo setting that can be turned on... that would be a tip if the same applies to the 5e... makes it less twitchy in the initial range of movement of the sticks.

Congrats on the new purchases! It's great that a REAL transmitter is included with your new flight simulator. That will make it very easy when you transition to use the 5e to fly the real thing.

I own an mCX2, and on page 8 of the user's manual, there is a mention on how to bind the DX5e to the mCX2.

Anyway, have a lot of fun with your new toy.

Ed

Great, thanx guys. Looking forward to "Joining the club" Hope to have everything by Thursday. Earliest I reckon it'll arrive will be tomorrow.

No49- I read somewhere (And saved) that the 5e has the same function. Thanx. Once I get everything sorted out I'll look into that.

Cheers,

Mark

Sounds good, Mark... I have a PDF of the procedure (I actually attached it in one of my posts somewhere... it might be in the attachments section of my profile... it's the manual for the UMX Hyper Taxi)
