AP from the base of MT Crested Butte

Took my SS flying from the parking lot of the Crested Butte Mountain ski area. Take off was just a few feet shy of 10,000 feet. Here are some houses around the base of the mountain.

Here is a shot of the Sheraton hotel and some shops. I am standing next to the green 4 runner in the parking lot.

Here are some houses around the base of the mountain, and some tired old cracked roads.

Dude, you're up in the mountains and you're taking pictures of condos... I must admit, though, they are good shots of the ground.

Get any shots of the MOUNTAINS?

I can almost smell that clean, cool air. It's not even June yet, and we are already having 100 degree days here..........Gotta love this Texas weather.

This mission was a mission of opportunity. I was up in Crested Butte with my wife for lunch and some shopping. I had the SS in the car so I snuck in a flight while she was shopping. I had the camera pointing almost straight down and was trying to get some shots of the stuff around the base area. I would like to go back with more time and the camera pointed out the wing instead of straight down. I only had 1 battery this time out.

Alright then, based on that I'll give you a break.

For a one battery, "fly while she shops" mission, you got some great shots of the base area.

It's pretty obvious we have high expectations every time you post photos!

Fall 1966

Hey GF,

Very Nice Shots!

I was in an R&R band and played for room, board, and lift tickets at Crested Butte in the winter of 1966! Yikes! I'm sure this would confirm my qualifications as an Old Fart. If I remember right, they had just built a big wooden ramp so the Olympic candidate Ski Jumpers could practice. Shastakovich, those guys are nuts.

I posted some pictures of my Super T-Hawk in a new thread. If the SS will fly at 10,000 ft, maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree. Do you have a supercharger on the motor

What motor/battery setup are you using??

Rich

I am using the Mini AC 1215/16 with the planetary 6:1 GB swinging a 14x7 prop on 8 1100mah HEcells. See pic below.
