Quick flight before work in the decently lit parking lot. Two successful landings with one not so great, but for my first flight in a week almost it was refreshing to let her come out for 5 minutes nothing broke so it was perfect in my book

anyone got any tips on how to remove the stock adhesive from the motor an what adhesive to use to refit into the new fuselage?

Question for all you 808/ keychain camera users

do you remove the camera from the case or just use it as you received it?

i broke my last 808 with a heavy landing, an having just waited 2 weeks for the replacement to arrive im worried i will kill this one...

i reckon the champ would be fine with the addition weight of the case on the camera?
The Champ handles the 808 with casing like a ...Champ

its pretty much straight...

And again on my lunch break. Now that I've had a chance to bring it to work with me I love this plane even more. I can open my trunk and be in the air 60 seconds later.

Had just as many successful take offs as landings this time

Led sled?..I don't care. I love it!

My Champ has had both wings broken and repaired with Gorilla Glue and tape. Modifications such as some wooden struts. A nose dime for C of G adjustment. A pouch made out of tape to support the battery with the velcro. And, little bits of tape here and there for strength and support. My batteries are the stock battery that came with it, and Turnigy 160's that may be getting a little tired (new ones ordered and on the way).
How does it fly? Oh...I guess it is a little heavy. Loops are less than precision and I fall out of them much of the time. Rolls are..well...creative?
But ya know...more and more, in flight it is acting and looking more like the real Aeronca Champ's that I used to fly years ago. We used to call Champs "bathtubs" because of the oval shape of the cockpit. They flew low and slow, and that is how I am flying "Champy". It is developing a character that is part of me and my fondness for it increases with every flight.

Or possibly warp the foam
Or possibly melt hot glue repairs

My slowstick wing warped in my shed last summer because it got so hot. I keep my UMs in the house or in my office to protect them in the summer. In the winter the danger is the foam can become very brittle. But no matter what, the batteries always stay in a place where the temperature ranges from around 70-85 degs.

hey all champ-a-holics

when you have opened the fuselage up, how do you stick the top an bottom parts together again?

i have selotape, but i dont think this is strong enough?

i was thinking double sided tape but it will be a nightmare to cut

any ideas?

also has anyone found paint that is a match for the champ?

It is recommended to use packaging tape as a fix on these, why not use it to keep it together?
This was given as a match, but not sure if it's available across the pond:

Touch up paint Folk Art #627 Tangerine acrylic paint commonly available at craft stores and Joanne fabrics.

I use ordinary Scotch (celo) tape.

Short strips -- it doesn't need long ones -- applied at just a few strategic places. Maybe two on each side of the fuse and one where the fuse meets the empennage. That give plenty of holding power, yets adds almost no weight.
