Blade SR Tail Motor Burnout

I bought my new Blade SR 5 days ago. Flew it 10 times and yesterday the tail motor overheated, seized up and my heli went into a death spiral. Why do they keep using tail motors instead of belt drives?

I guess they're cheap, simple mechanically and easy to repair, so e-flite thinks they're preferable for beginner helis. I really enjoyed my Blade CP Pro when I had it, but the tail motors were definitely the worst thing about them. Even with no crashing and giving the motor some time to cool off between flights, the tail motors still lasted only 50 or 60 flights. OTOH the tail motor in my mSR has lasted hundreds of flights. I think for sub-micros like the mSR a tail motor is preferable for its mechanical simplicity, but once you get up to Blade SR size, I would agree that a driven tail of some sort is preferable.

Entire thread on BSR tailmotor.
It's not the only one. While tailmotors are typically short lived, seems like Eflite bought these from a Walkera scrap sale.

how can brushed tail motors be good for beginner when they quite working in flight then you to crash and could cause other damage to your heli plus repairs umm ? its funny they got them brushed motors from walkera, all walkera helis use brushless motors mine has lasted me many flights.
