EZUHF and RSSI feeds

I just purchased my new EZUHF and am preparing to take the plunge into LRS>
I'm excited about the prospect of having RSSI information on screen to monitor the status of reception, but I use another OSD besides EZOSD. I'm wondering if the only option is to try one of those "digital to analogue" mods to convert the digital RSSI signal coming from the EZUHF receiver, or if anyone out there has met with success getting an RSSI measurement using other OSD's such as EagleTreeOSD, Skylarks, or any of the many others that are needing an analogue signal. I realize the short and easy answer is to ditch my current osd and move to EOSD, but it would seem that this would be a common dilemma for many, and I would not think that immersionrc would want to dissuade those that want to use EZUHF just because they might be partial to another OSD. As such,I was hoping this might have been addressed by someone at Immersion and (if not) if someone could help me to understand my options for getting an RSSI reading. In my searches I've seen this same issue addressed with all the other LRS manufacturers but still have not found anything from immersionrc. Any help appreciated!!

I use EZUHF with the DragonOSD and bought a tiny unit which converts the RSSI/Link QUality signal. I'll PM you the link to the thread where you can find more info about it.

Is there a place I can buy the EZUHF system as a kit -- dragonlink style, or do I have to piecemeal this thing myself? Presumably there should be a kit out there that's in stock and for a better price than individual components. Maybe I'm missing something. Also, nobody seems to have it in stock in the US?

It's not hard to piece together!

Here is the guide for building the monopole antennas

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1413650

it's really easy, just get a fine tip solder for like 8$ at radio shack.. I did and I'm honestly really dumb.

PS: I hope you roll with purple antennas because of this effort... Also I still feel like the antennas should be provided, but it's kind of worth it, especially now with the lower price... I got an ezuhf just a month or so ago and I had a diamond 771 from over a year ago because I got too impatient and wasted my money on something that made me wish i had the ezuhf.

question.
i have a dx8 radio and I've seen online (youtube video)

Connect EzUHF to Spektrum Dx6, Dx7, or Dx8 (6 min 38 sec)

how people connect them to the ezuhf tx. my question is i have already a cable that goes from male ps2 connection to 1/8 (3.5mm) stereo jack that fits in the back of my dx8 trainer port.

that cable came with the fatsharks that i bought.

will that cable work with the dx8 and ezuhf?

THIS is what the DX8 cable looks like.
Yours looks like a stereo plug instead of mono, it might still work.

Here what I use, works fine.

From the MANUAL

EzUHF Transmitter
Powering the transmitter
The EzUHF transmitter has two flexible power options. Both of which may be used for additional
redundancy:
1) Power supplied via the 4-pin mini-din connector.
In the case where the transmitter is connected to a futaba radio, with 9.6v, or 3s Lipo power
source, this is the preferred method of powering the transmitter.
2) Power supplied via the DC power jack.
In cases where the R/C transmitter either doesn’t provide power via its trainer connector, or
when a lower voltage is available (2s radios for example), it is preferred to power the EzUHF via
the DC power jack.
The power jack is center-pin positive, 2mm internal pin, 5.5mm outer diameter.
A suitable plug is Mouser #502-S760BK
NOTE: The EzUHF transmitter may safely be powered via both connectors simultaneously, even if two
different voltages are presented.

I used a Continuity Tester to find the center pin and connected it to the positive (red wire) on the battery plug.

today i tested my new ez uhf mounted on my futaba 6ex with stock cable.
after 5 flight with bad performance (10km @ 200mw = failsafe) I smelled something burning....
and after a few minutes my ez, has stopped working properly.
works, but much warmer and the range has been drastically reduced (about 500m).
I tried to unscrew the lid but the part that heats up is not visible, the card itself seems to be heating up. ... ok .. I do not understand anything about electronics but I have mounted several successful lrs without problems.
how can I do? I checked the antenna on rangelink but a friend of mine works perfectly.

EzUHF Rx OSD Link Cable (RSSI)

Have just bought EzUHF Tx & Rx - Both Installed, paired and working ok - BUT

EZUHF Rx has an OSD Link Cable which plugs into rx but the tinned wires at the other end have to be 'spliced' into the EZOSD cable going from Battery Sensor to OSD.
The wire colours are different.
Can someone tell me which colours to splice to which colours - PLEASE.
