'Zactly. I knew you knew that... I also found the rat rod/ rat bike phenom kinda cool back when it was a tiny segment 20 or 30 years ago... but the professionally done stuff... well, let's just say that after it exploded into a huge wave, I still do enjoy the artistry and inventiveness.... in the abstract... and leave it at that.

BR-549. Nice touch. Many will not have a clue about either of the 2 references to that.

Love the car.

Nope, I'm a S FL transplant.

Could just tell you were 'hip' to the 'scene,' regarding rat rods, as Seinfeld's Kramer might say.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The patina was 60 years in the making. Only a little red primer over the welds. No bondo anywhere.

Gas tank rag is dummy. Diesel fuel cell in trunk with twin air compressors for air ride.

Train horns under the hood really gets folk's attn. 160 decibels.

Duramax diesel coupled with Allison tranny and custom console shifter. Everybody drops a small block chevy in hot rods. Was looking for something completely different.

Scary fast and would smoke the tires to the rim.

There is no Bonneville, Utah...only Bonneville salt flats.

Yep, I have seen Jr. Samples Auto sales.

Awesome, thanks for the additional details!

I have a very mild 350/350 combo in my '40 Ford (seen earlier in this thread), and I have often wondered what a hybrid electric setup might do to the old girl if the time came to pull the old motor.... one of those that generates great torque off the line but excellent fuel mileage for trips.

(Either that or a wild blown big block.... )

hmmm...
