FY30 IMU not showing up

OK,
I have checked everything several times.
And the FY30 lights up, but still does not show up when booting up.
And no AH.
Two Pic of the set up.
The monitor was blurry because I had to hurry after hooking up before it disappeared.

PS. tried to upload a video of the 2nd aileron causing the "Failsafe" to come on, but unable to do it.

I was really thinking of getting an IMU for the DOSD, but from all this talk of problems do you guys think it would really make a noticeable diff? It would be going into my aerial photgraphy plane.

I would just build one myself using pitot tube from DIY drones.

Thanks!
It's a Honeywell HSCMRNN001PG2A3. Here's a source: http://sg.element14.com/honeywell-s-...SCMRNN001PG2A3

Personally I don't think you'll notice any significant difference with/without the IMu attached.

Is the IMU needed to provide any functionality to DragonOSD that you would not have without it? Is it only used for the AIH? Everything else like waypoint, RTH, loiter and autopilot/level flight all work w/out the IMU? I guess it would be just as easy to ask, what do you gain using an IMU with DraagonOSD?
-Thanks

I thought the DOSD could use IMU inputs to smooth out the flight if you route the servos through the DOSD. Am I mistaken? It would be nice to have the platform more stable for camera work. Otherwise you're stuck with routing the servos through the DOSD and then through the FY-30 for stabilization.

Okay, your picture is really hard to decifer, but here's what I see.
#1. The FY-30 is being powered from the Xlator? If so, that'sa noa gooda. The FY needs something like 4.6v (minimum) to operate properly. The Xlator gets its power from the I2C circuit with is only 3.3v.
#2. Connect ONLY the GND and Rx to Tx line from the FY to the Xlater...ie remove the Red wire on your current connection.
#3. Run a power and gnd wire from your Rx to any +/- pins on the FY (I used one of the servo output pins). Now the FY has 5v to run and the Xlator has 3.3v to run.

Take a look at my wiring set up in this post: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...ostcount=19290. This works for me.

You are correct. The DOSD can react quicker to attitude changes provided by the IMU. An unstable plane or flying in gusty winds would likely benefit from an IMU. Will you notice a significant improvement w/wo the IMU? I haven't, but perhaps that's because I'm flying higher with a wide angle GoPro lens so bumps and stuff don't show up as much?...

I think I digged something

Ok thanks Van.

HSCMRRN001PD2A3
http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/H...gKSPjD4RfSHq/S

That os 3.3v I2C.... do we need 1psi one?
I think so. DIY drones http://store.diydrones.com/Kit_MPXV7...v7002dp-01.htm show 0.3 psi sensor...

Daniel himself said you must use this one: HSCMRNN001PG2A3. See my post above.

yes, I have it run like you have.
I just took the pics to show the Fy30 is powered up, but not being sensed by the DOSD.

Is this a BAD one? How would I know.
Support from Dragon Labs, will not answer any of my e-mails. As usual take the money and run.

Wha??? Who are you sending the e-mails to? I do support for Dragon Labs (volunteer basis) and I've answered every e-mail I get...even if I can't provide the direct answer personally.

you need to speak to chirs1seto. He's a good guy, sure he will fix this for you.

do you have a multimeter you can test all the voltages are correct? I have a feeling there are two lights on my FY, I will check
