Bye bye proedf f-16 :(= crash :(

OKAY well it happend again! Can not hand launch, another one bites the dust. IT was pretty jet but I guess not hand launchable. I am using HET 6904 fan with JS1400 motor on 4s 40c 2650mah battery. I felt I had enough power but it did seem a bit heavy. It stalled right after the launch. I am going to try to fix it but this will be most likely my last fiberglass plane. I am not a good builder and can not do all the fancy retracts, I will stick to the foam planes, its just I get bored because it is harder to get them to gover over 100mph plus. But these fiberglass ones are eating my wallet bad, I lost the F-20, F-104, now F-16, thats over $550 right there in frames.

bummer

Bummer! I have not used one myself, but if you are into those types of planes W/O landing gear (and a suitable place to take them off from) then it sounds like you need a bungee launcher...

$50 invested in a bungee launcher would have solved the launching problems...Try one more time..but use a bungee..at least give it one more try!!

It's no point in trying to give the man good advice, he obviously does not listen to it anyways. Bungee has been an advice from lots of people but yet here we are again

IMHO, your "need for speed" is what is doing you in. All of your planes (even your Twister) were using big batteries, and were up at the heaviest end of the scale for the airframe. When you have high wing loading (ie, the plane weighs a lot for the size of the wings), you will have problems hand launching, because the thing only wants to fly at high airspeed.

If you must have overpowered heavy planes, you'll need to bungee them and/or use landing gear.

I don't blame you for trying to avoid bungees, they're a hassle. Retracts can be tricky and fragile as well.

If I were you, I'd stick to lighter, less powerful planes, with lower wing-loading.

I know you like speed, but remember, 100 MPH in a 1:16 model is the equivalent of 1600 MPH full size. That's way more than scale. Also, don't you like to see your plane as it flies by?

Just my .02. I give you lots of credit for persistence.

using a 2650mah pack with a js1400 is silly anyhow...unless you like less then 2 minute flights.

i will upload the video from my second attempt

I came home and fixed her up with tape, and tried again. We tried to put wheels on her with gorrila tape just to see if it would take off, after that failed I did the hand launch again. I do say the frame is very very strong. I mean I have the jet after this second crash, and the only thing that came off is the vertical stabilizer. THE kit is very strong but also very heavy. I am going to try again with a home made dolly, no more hand launch.
