Syma S032

I have stumbled across this one on Ebay - 14.5 inches w/Gyro for about $60 shipped.

It comes up as a "Shark" or a "Snow Dragon" on EBay but I haven't seen any discussion here about it - anyone fly one? My kids think the Snow Dragon is cool looking - I didn't want to pull the trigger on one if it flys like a dog since we could buy a few of the 6023-1, 6020-1 models for the same cost.

Hi
Welcome aboard
Im pleased to meet you
2 things i like about them from the ad you posted
1 slightly larger than the other helis you mentioned
2 Appears to use a rf ( Radio freq) tx and rx other than an IR (Infrared) one
So would be able to fly out doors on calm days or in a brightly lite area with out the IR signal getting messed with due to bright lights or sunshine
I would say go for it and let us know how it goes
Take care
Hank

I have a few samples of the S032.

It is great. About the same size as the Syma S006 Alloy Shark; Considered as a "Medium" size in the toy standards.

The gyro is very snappy. It takes a split second to respond but once you get used to the way it flies, it flies very similar to the micro version of it (the Syma S107). Outdoors in calm wind is also excellent. The frame is very well built.

There is also a bigger version of it, the Syma S031. I am not sure if it's out yet though but I see some HK sites with them.

No confusion here...

I can only vouch for hobby-estore as actually having this item to send out right now.

Just looked this bird up on a couple of wholesale sites...says it has a 500mah battery and charging is between 150 - 180 minutes. Oh dear!!

Do these things have to be REALLY slow-charged for some reason??? I use 2s 540mah batteries in my small fixed-wing models and charging is only about 45 minutes - and thats using a charge setting of 250mah, so it's slower than a normal 1c charge and kinder on the battery.

I like these bigger models but the charge time/flight time ratio is extremely frustrating.

Blurb on the S031 is that it has a 9.6v 800mah battery - not LiPo then - which also takes 3 hrs to charge. Approx 18" blades and a recommendation to 'stay 2 metres away at all times' cat-slicer and more.

these batteries are 450mAh, you can use a std balance charger.
