I'm excited to get this jet in the air. I just picked up the kit at the AMA show for $93 and change. Not bad at all.

Use 3s or you will fry your motor.

Has anyone tried the MB-1 motor on 4S yet with the Funjet? I was going to test it on 4S with a 4.75X4.75 or 5.1X4.1 or something similar. The motor is 3200kv, but I have no idea what to expect with a prop on it considering the motor is normally used for EDF's.

However I am not so sure about how plate sits on the black thingy.

I'll try to get it straight, however I'm affraid it is going to take a while to test fly it, since the grass runway where I fly is in bad condition, frozen, and last time I landed my FJ it got some nasty scars on the belly.

And broke one servo arm off. (My fault, I didn't put servo covers on - I have now.)
I checked the mount, it obviously wasnt sitting straight. I fixed it, now it is 0/0 degree angle.

I emptied four packs today, torque roll is reduced significantly, however it is still present. I will adjust the motor to add a bit of downthrust and try it, I hope I can get rid of torque roll completely.

Glad you fixed it

He's right.

3300KV will need a 4.5" prop max. You're doing 40,000+ RPM on 4S.

Inefficiency will mean a large drop in RPM compared to no load RPM, heat, more heat and then smoke

hello guys,

I'm planning to buy an FJ Ultra aswell, and would like to fly it with 4S 2650 35-70C Turnigy Nano-Techs. Wich motor (preferably a turnigy or something comparable)

I'd like to use a 60A ESC, but I also can use a 80A if needed. I would like to have a velocity about 200 km/h

greetings,
Fabian

I am thinking of ditching my 4S set-up with the 3200kv Sapac MB-1. It may work =, but I am doubting myself. I have received great advice from board members and I think I may still try it out with a 5X5 APC or 4.75X4.75. However, this HET 2W-25 on 4S with 6X5.5 prop seems to be highly recommended by lots of members.

Now, I have the aluminum motor mount from multiplex. Would the aluminum mount fit the bolt pattern of the HET 2W-25 motor?

Also, can the 2W-25 setup mentioned take the Ultra 140+mph?

I'd advise you stay away from the APC 5x5 prop. It doesn't seem to have very good performance. From the ritewing thread, we've had lots of success with the "magical" APC 6x4 Sport prop (as opposed to the 6x4 electric). But as with anything, stick the setup through a wattmeter before you go out flying.

Thanks Hawkz. I'm assuming you are recommending to stay away from the 5X5 prop on either set-up I may use. Thank you for the heads up. I have never used one, so that's good to know. I'll do some research on it. I am worried a 6X4 using 4S with a 3200kv motor will fry that motor into pieces, lol. That's why I am thinking of moving to the HET 2W-25 on 4S .
