Not sure anymore, I stopped buying cheap motors a bit ago after getting a few duds. It would have worked out cheaper for me to buy a decent motor than the 3 cheapo's I actually did buy.

Maybe someone else can recommend something.

Maybe you'd like to comment on what batteries you have or might get? No use someone recommending a motor that needs 70a continous if your batteries are only 2200mah 20c's, if you see what I mean.

I am getting a 3300 mah 11.1 40c sky lipo. Is there a motor and esc that you recomend for under $60

As I have found out there are many motors that will work..It all depends on budget what speed you are looking for and what equipment you already have...I am a noob when it comes to the FJU

Get a Mega 16/25/2CE, which is 3, 4 and 5s capable (I've not run 5s myself tho). It's the cheapest Mega that's suitable for 130mph+ at around 74 euro's + postage. HET motor's work ok but I got through 2 HET's (3W) to 1 Mega (16/15/3) on a pylon racer.

The easiest way to get the correct setup in one package is to get it from MPI. It comes with motor mount plate, 75 amp CC ESC, prop , and motor. I have been told this setup will go around 130ish. I believe the cost is around $150 for everything. I was going to get it but chose a different route

I prefer inrunners, outrunners need you to route the wires so they don't catch on the can when it's spinning. Not a difficult job, but an inrunner means you don't have this prob to think about. MPX power set for the FJU is an 35mm outrunner BTW...

I had this motor http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_2350kv.html in the original FJ. I used a 3s 2200, 60a Turnigy esc and a 6x5.5 APCE. Top speed was around 100mph according to other users. Vertical was very good (not willing to say it was unlimited, but it wasn't far off...). And it was quiet.

Sadly the tree gods claimed the plane, and then some toe rag nicked it when the gods finally let go of it some weeks later.

So I bought some more of those motors, but they weren't as good as the 1st. Bad bearings and loose shafts, grinding noise on 1 of them when it was spun up. Shafts broke a bit easily too IMO (nothing to do with bad launches......). No replacement shafts listed, but there are some that 'fit'.

Point is the QC can be hit or miss with the cheap end stuff. If you get a good 1 then they're great VFM, but if you don't..... well it made me feel like I'd wasted my ££££.

Go Mega..Scorpion or Het......HK stuff is to be extremely careful with....If you don't baby their motors...You'll end up spending more then if ya went with Quality in the first place....Trust me...I was a victim!!!!..its easy to spend cheap...for shore....then after ya dug that hole....You'll wish ya went with Quality in the first place...

Don't cheap out on something that can be quite dangerous. Cheap ESC's, servo's and receivers may be a bargain, but you can seriously injure yourself, others and property if you have a failure at speed.

You can get away with cheap components for park flyers, but any decent power system on a Funjet will have you over 100mph. You can do a lot of damage at that speed.

Aside from the safety aspect, you will thank yourself in the end as all your parts will have a much longer life. The more expensive stuff is that way for a reason. Better magnets, glue, wiring, cans, shafts etc..

Mega 16/25/3 or HET 2w-23 ..What ESC for either ? I think it was a 100 amp for the HET? and 60 for the Mega? I have a deal pending for each of these motors not sure which to get

Get the Mega 16/15/3. It's light, reliable, and the bearings hold up well. On 3S in the funjet original I could hit 130 with a bit of a dive. It won't be super hard on your batteries either. I used a Graupner 5.2 x 5.2 for best results.
