I am a big fan of Horizon products.

Their customer service has been Very good to me over the years.

I too agree that way too often Receivers get blamed when the issue is else where.

At the same time, I know that not in a million years will they (Spektrum/Horizon) ever admit that something was not perfect.

What's that Heli site?.....runryder or similar....A guy did a excellent write up and showed pics of the printed circuit board of AR6200. He pointed out areas that are too thin and prone to damage.

Wish you all the very best and hope none of you ever crash. It sure sucks!!!!

Ok ive pulled this from my little tub of tricks. I'll rebuild my FJU (now known as FrankenJet Ultra) and trial the same set up but with the ubec. If its fine, I'll buy ANOTHER (goddammit!) funjet and start again. Thanks EVERYONE for the help.

Ive used that one - works well. I suggest again use a separate Rx pack. 2s370 is only 40g. That way you bypass your main lipo and esc. Added peice of mind.

Get a 2s370mah (or 400mah)
Solder a minideans / your favourite plug to the battery lead and a plug to the black and red wire of your UBEC.
Plug battery into UBEC
Plug UBEC into Rx
Easy !
Or you can use a 2S LIFE battery. They're 6.6V so you can plug them straight into your Rx with no UBEC.

I'm going to start building my MultiPlex TwinJet soon with two HiMax inrunners. And I plan on using one of these Hobby People LiFe Receiver Packs to power the servos. It'll also help balance the plane by adding a little more weight up front. I picked one up when it was on sale for $19.99.

Heres a theory. First off, i once had a servo on a heli that when installing was very tight and took some working in. When testing the heli, that particular servo would have spasms. I thought it was a dodgy servo so removed it, but it was fine when tested outside of the heli. i wondered if it was due to the servo bay being too tight. It was fixed just by filing the servo bay a touch.
These HS 65MG's were very tight in the servo bays on the FJU, and I'm wondering if maybe theyre drawing more current as a result, possibly causing the problems I'm having. Any thoughts on this?
I'm just disappointed that I spent $167 aud on the MPX set up and having issues, when I could have gone a cheaper route that would have given more power and speed at half the price.

Finally got my 5.5x5.5 runs in on a 4s HET 2w-23.

I think it is too much prop and I am losing too much RPM. It was constantly in 125-130 range when I was getting those speeds with a 5.5x4.5.

I've got the 5.2x5.2 that I'll try this weekend, I think that might be the sweet spot for prop sizes on this motor on 4s at least.

I put my HS65's in with only minor trimming where the horn screws in. No problems with mine on a 3amp integrated BEC.

If you're looking for a recommended Himax HC3514-2900 for your FunJet Ultra, I'm selling mine.

Well this is it... I got all my parts together and I assembled my Funjet. We will see now if this recommended setp wlll in fact crush the opposition!

I started the assembly by sanding all the mold bumps and filling the dimples.

Attachment 5323944

I coated all the parts with Minwax to ensure a good surface for paint. After a fine sanding this also helped smooth out the panels. I picked up a light kit just for that extra touch that will set mine apart from the others. I used 5 min epoxy on the spar and with the wings but I used silicone adhesive for the turtle decks and the motor hub. I might have to get back in here at some point someday.

Attachment 5323951

This is the desired paint scheme which will tie in well with my decal set.

Attachment 5323982

I didn't like the "50's space ship" retro look of the original canopy so I sanded in new canopy lines and used rattle can chrome on it.

Attachment 5323983

My opponents got some free stickers so they plastered "Rockstar energy drinks" all over their funjets. Out of spite, I am using a "Monster energy drinks" scheme with the choice of paint colours and decal set I picked up. Notice the spoon hood scoop over the esc and onto the back of the motor. This should provide optimal cooling.

For my setup I am using a BL15 3600kv inrunner with the E-flite Stryker 6x4 prop (older version) powered with a CC Ice lite 100A. I have balanced the plane for use with either 3s or 4s 3500mAh 30C lipo packs. I also balanced the prop to ensure smooth quiet operation. Well... as quiet as Funjet can get, lol. I will be posting the maiden soon.
