For Sure!!!..One reason I don't buy Arcs anymore too!!!...they bend easy as well..You can try to bend it back to as good as you can get ....then Cut the shaft down as close as your installation will allow...I've got away with doin that once....out of half a dozen .....That's a Bummer WM...also..that is just one more reason I launch at the 11:00 angle....You get a wee bit longer to correct yourself on a Bad launch by almost vertical launches...10:00 is as low as I ever launch...I do that on my Old 1/2 Pacer...and my Gary Wright Pylon Racer..

Hope ya git it to where you can reuse the Motor!!!

I"ve had my share of bad launches, i found i must allways launch directly into the wind. Even if it means taking a walk before launches. Once airborn you can allways go allmost out of sight straight up, go into glide mode an walk back to where you want to fly from.

FJU held up well tho, I'd have thought it'd be shredded.

Im extremely disappointed i didnt get the crash on video.
That foam is amazing though....we even tried breaking parts of it afterwards....can be done...but need lots of effort. I'd like to see more RC models made of this stuff. I dont mind paying extra if necessary.....I'd see it as a long term investment.

Bummer about your bad launch.

I'm not sure what the shaft dia is, but I'm sure there's plenty on here that'll tell ya' that a 5mm Mega shaft doesn't bend.

+1

If it is a 5mm shaft on the SK3, then it must be softer Metal.

Getting a shaft properly heat treated cost time and money.

I wrap the servo in masking tape and use a good blob of medium CA. If you need to remove the servo then the masking tape can be cut and the servo comes out (a bit) easier.

Going to start my Funjet Ultra build soon. Will start with a HiMax 3514 and then work my way up to an ARC.

What servos are you using on your Ultras? Will a Hitec 82MG fit into the pre-cut slots without any mods or are 65MGs a better bet?
