I didn't know the UK had a 'Festival of Speed' until today, http://www.bmmfc.com/events/speedevent.htm , I can't do it this year but I could be up for a go next. Wonder what the UK's fastest FJU will be? Course and rules seem simple enough, and I like the 30m MAX height restictriction. Could be a fun day weather permitting. Check out the 'Pilots Notes' if your interested.

Seems Hobbyking are due to release a new 3659 EDF motor at 1600kv. It's not for sale yet but here's the vid

I burned my MR28-56-2800 while testing
6X4 on 4S - first test, 3sec WOT - I suspect it was damaged in a crash.
So now Ive installed a Neu 1509/1Y, 4S and 6X4. The stock FJ mount needed a bit of trimming but its fits. I was 37oz AUW with the MR. Im now at +-39oz with the NEU. +-1800W and 148A (neu motor calc)
My only concern is the motor is 39mm and there is no space for airflow. The mount tube is completely blocked by the motor. Any ideas on getting more airflow ?
And any general comments on my set-up also welcome.

Won't the lack of space around the motor force air through it instead of over it, which will be better?

At the UK Speed event the 30m height restriction is only on the run in and the timed course, just like the german speedcup.

I didn't know it was the same as the German Speed Cup. Never looked in to the the rules TBH until I saw the announcement for the UK Speed event.

--Most your flying will be partial throttle and flight times will be relatively short anyway --just fly it

--you can also get a metal motor mount that acts as additional heat sink

Well my best so far is 192 on the Stalker Pro.

Stock Funjet w/SmallCNCParts motor mount
6S 45C 2250
Ice Lite 100
ARC 36-55-1.5Y 1850kV
Graupner Speed Prop 7x7
SWOT is 87 amps
Motor temp after coming down 103*
Batteries at 120-129*F after

I think you need those extra 50kV of the HobbyKing motor to get the 200mph.

Has anyone ever considered this motor for a 4s setup?
