HET 2w-30

An unbelievable motor for the money and 4S is it's sweet spot on a Funjet

Gryphon originally recommended the HET 2w30 to me when I was looking back then. I ended up stepping back to the HET 2w25 to keep it lighter and to stay in 3s (which for me has been great since I'm not comfortable with speeds above 120 yet).

But either motor is great. But go with the HET 2w30 if you are wanting more than 130's mph.

HET 2w25 -- heatsink -- 6x5.5 apc -- 4s 3000--3300 -- 80 amps -- solid 130 mph

Het 2w30 -- heatsink -- 6x5.5 -- 5s 3300 -- I think should get 145mph-ish

Ordered Turnigy 3648-1450 -- hoping to see 150mph+ on 4s - 5s 3300 with 7x5 or 7x6 props

We hot 147mph with the HET 2W-30 on 4S, APC 7x6sport. I haven't tried 5S, but I figured with propping down, I wouldn't get any more speed.

Can't remember who it was but I remember someone posting that the HET 2w25 could do 133 mph with a 6x4 sport prop and 4s.

What prop is best to use in the Ultra. I have an APC 6x5.5 but not sure this is best, what will give the best top speed?

Also,

How should I mount the pusher prop-
1) Just like a normal prop but spin the motor backwards?
2) Put the prop on back-to-front so it "pulls" through the air despite being a pusher
3) Do i have to buy a specific pusher prop?

Thanks
Will

Prop size will depend on what motor are you going to use and the size of lipo (no. of cells).

Props should be mounted as if you would on a 'normal' plane, numbers on the prop facing forward.

You can use pusher props but you would need to reverse the wires on the motor. If you wanted to swap with tractor props (normal props), you would need to swap the wires over again. Best to not use pusher props TBH, they're designed for IC engines (which you can't reverse the motors rotation with).

I changed my nanotech 4S 2650 45/90C for a nanotech 4S 3300 65/130C, top speed went from 255km/h to 273km/h on the APC 7x10 sport
Now I have 6S speed on only 4S with the 3648-1450, and the motor is not so hot anymore after the flight!
On 6S APC 7x6 sport was borderline on 5-6 sec bursts and speed was ~275km/h

I'm messing around with those Motors along with a Scorpion HK 3226 1400 and a 1900...You must be diving right?...I fly about 30 to 40' above ground and level...I don't see how you get that speed on a 4 cell...unless its Gravity induced...correct...Just asking...

I use a 6 cell with 80x60 Master Air Screw prop...and i don't think i'm goin over 160...don't know for sure....Billy

If thats an 8x6 prop, drop down to a 7x7 and you will see more speed on the long straight-aways, and your batts will thank you !!

Hi Billy

It was dopplered in level flight, the 7x10 does the trick, it is more efficient than any other prop on the FJU.
Try the 7x10 on the HK3226-1400 on 4S and see for your self.
