I don't really think it's all that un-tame to be honest with you. Flies great, nice and fast, no really bad characteristics. I just don't have the uninhibited space to fly it in. Plus, I didn't buy the awesome setup and this airframe to have something tame. I have a little Phase 3 EF-16 EDF to fly around tamely (80 mph tops!) and bought the FJU to get more speed. Flying it tamely is like giving me a Ferrari and asking me to go the speed limit on the highway.

I bit the bullet last week and ordered me a FJU. Tower had a free shipping sale... I had keyed in my CC info and hovered over the "Pay Now" link but I chickened out twice. I then found out that I could get free shipping as well as $20 off my order so I resisted no more.
I ordered the FJU, two servos, and an ICE 75 ESC. I also sold a foamie backyard airplane to a friend to raise the funds for a HET 2W-25 and that's on the way too. I'm the kind of person that likes to have everything I need to complete a build at one time... I don't like buying pieces for a project over time. I'm too impatient. ![]() Anyway, it will all be here this week. I'm sure it's going to be a fast build so I should have it airborne this weekend. Should be fun ripping this little foamie around our club field at 120... |

I know how you feel on the lack of space to fly your FJU Runnikee, sorry you can't come up with a solution. The local park I use is tight, but I'm guessing that I don't get the attention that you are when flying, and most people tend to keep their distance until I've landed (obvious pun about 'if you've seen me fly you'd know why they keep their distance'...), except for the kids.
I also try and educate anyone that does approach me about the dangers of wandering over to me while I'm flying, not sure if it helps, but I think it can't do any harm either. I enjoy my 3s setup, it's not too fast, but it's fast enough for the park. If you've got a suitable 3s battery (or use 2 smaller batts in parallel), why not give it a go before you sell? But it is about enjoying what you fly, so I get why you're thinking of selling. Happy landings..... |

I did some work on the FJU last night. This is why I love Elapor... a little kicker on one side, CA on the other, and done. I installed the servo horns and the servos, and I'm hoping to glue the wings in tonight.
