Question
Need help for quadrocopter setup for autonomous flight

Hello,
I am planning on making a tricopter to use in experiments for flight control. I am new to these kind of things, my past experience is in high power electronics (http://rp181.fortscribe.com). I am looking for some help.

The design needs to be able to support payloads, weight is undetermined. It will probably carry 2 webcams, a 3" square PC board, some servos, laser rangefinders and a inertial measurement unit.
I want to do this in a compact footprint, so spacing between blades will be minimal (what are negative effects of this? balance?).
3 of these motors looks good:

Is this a good motor in terms of power, speed, etc..? What props should I use? ESC's?

The frame will be self built, aluminum or carbon fiber, or nylon.

It is hard to guess without a weight estimate but that motor seems way to big, here is a good Tri thread that is very active.

Is their a problem using larger motors/ESC/batteries? Weight is not a problem.
Does a 14x6 prop mean a 14" diameter prop?

14" is the diameter of the prop.

I think that size of a Tri is uncharted waters around here, should work fine in theory.

I have a new list:
4x http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5686 ($12.74)
1x http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...ack__(5pcs/bag) ($2.99)
4x http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=4312 ($11.90)
1x http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=2169 ($6.95)

Will these work together? What battery should I use for ~30 min. of flight? How about gyros? controller will be self built.
