"This BATTERY business is a HARD TASKMASTER......if you don`t stay current they drop like flies."
Man....you said it.
My batteries RARELY make it a year. Some dont last 6 months, dunno why. I bought a fancy charger, do maintenance on 'em, they still fail. My son has the exact same problem with his on the MSR.
Hovered the stock pro, and just finished hovering the MD500E in the basement, still good. Just to windy to get 'em outdoor.
Did a PAINT experiment on the Harley battery and fuse covers. I scuff sanded them, put metalflake red on them, then put anodizing RED paint on them to try to get a deeper look. It didn't work so I re-did them with the anodizing red as a base, then metalflake red, then clear coat. I'll give it a few hours, but my inital results seem to be a somewhat darker metalflake red, looks pretty good I think. I'll check it again in a few hours to see how well the color "locked" it's self in.

Full charge now
With a full charge in the COBRA I ` ve just complete a full 8 minute flight with the heli responding beautifully...now I REALLY have to get my butley OUT to the Park or the field to go into FORWARD and REGULAR FLIGHT.
Too many things, too close together on this driveway BUT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO
IGNORE : ZERO AIR MOVEMENT, 74 F, and the SUN SHINING but out of the way.
2 large trees, the house, one brick mailbox, too much stuff to hit.
ALSO, sent off for one mCPX-V 2 from Horizon ( the BNF version) and to prepare for the arrival I have just now COMPLETED my first programming of a transmitter . Going to use BOTH the DX6-i and the DX-7, both programmed to operate the V2
this way I will definitely FIND OUT if there`s a disparity in the performance, comparing both transmitters. So far today, the DX6i seemed to do well flying the COBRA
Before I start doing the DX7 I need to locate the manual because even though I have the "program" for the X.V2 I have to quote from the Manual for the procedure to the DX7 transmitter.
As usual I am REVERSED ::: the summer season ENDS and dumb Mr. B gets going again......sheeeessshhhh
I`m wishing I had video`d this last long flight...the COBRA looks so great

Just remember, the bird will NOT hold bind to BOTH radios at the same time. Each time you switch transmitters, you will be re-binding the bird to the approprate transmitter. The programming (or model) in each transmitter will NOT have to be changed once you have it programmed in....that'll be fine.
Barry....you got me motivated to look at my 206. Just laying in the tool box, really DIRTY. Might have to bring 'er back to life, it's a decient flying heli.

I believe they create DIFFICULTIES rather unnecessary in those guides for programming the transmitters.
Particularly with the ACRONYMS.
In the place where INH is used ( I "get" that one ! ) when you go to the screen, the allotted space is either miss/numbered OR the letters now say : LIN
how does " INH " match up with " LIN " is LIN meaning Linear ????
in THR PITCH and THR curve there`s supposed to be 5 positions
well: in one place it goes L to H with 2 3 and 4 in between which tallies
when you use L it appears that it is NOT the lowest ???????
IF I KEEP GOING I WILL GO INTO INSOMNIA
SAY G`NITE DICK
G`NITE DICK----------------------thanks VIC for the pointer I had never thought of that binding necessity but it`s easy enough to do and the comparison will be

Vimeo had problems
Earlier on this afternoon I finally succeeded in using a FULL BATTERY so that I could record a good flight on the mCP=X
Got ( I think ! ) about 3 minutes
I WISHED I had a person following the focused heli and using a bit of zooming to follow better. All I can do I HOPE that most of the flight stays within the screen.
As it came out
not too bad.....
I will DO a good one tomorrow with the COBRA who is dying to be flown out with some SPACE AROUND IT to go into FF
RICK ps JAY thanks for the LIKE on the COBRA look for the next one (better)
hope this other short video is not DEFECTIVE :::::VIMEO has problems with the "processing" have half a mind to REMOVE these videos, just testing this one :
KRAPP !!!! VIMEO was having problems and I saw the video and it`s ALL CHOPPED UP sorry guys
Anyway, not too bad for an ole phartte with sagging reflexes and other saggy thingies, I think !

Here's a quick video of a test hover of my hexicopter. It's very short, lot's of wind turbulence from 6 props. Lol
I watched both of your videos. The Cobra is a keeper for sure and the mCPX looks like your having a ball. Excellent.

The school gave my grand daughter a "roller coaster" project. Bought a wooden car, put heli rollers on it for wheels. The track consists of 10AWG electrical wire with cross members soldered in. The requirements are somewhat unrealistic....
* must be at least 1ft long
* base may not exceed 2ft
*must have at least 1 down hill and one up hill ( as I interpet, it must go down one hill and up another).
* must have a "catch box" at the end of the run.
Our track is 38" long which will be attached to a 2ftx2ft base, there will be an elevated extension attached to the base to support the other end of the track and catch box.
It took a couple hours of trial and error on the track. I tried piano wire, it wouldn't take solder even with my high wattage iron. I tried "golden rod" plastic, that was a no-go. I dont want to spend an eternity building a project that goes in the trash. The 10AWG was malible enough yet has good rigid character, and is easily soldered. I'll build the base Sunday, it'll take about an hour. It's due on 06Nov, I think the little girl will make the deadline. I'll post a pic when it's built.
Rick....you need to take the MCPX out to an open area and put it inverted......

to all who commented positively on my activity
I am dissapointed in the way VIMEO treated my
long video because the picture was chopped up
in so many little "interruptions"
One thing I ABSOLUTELY HATED to see was
a transmitter being burned that way. Those Oriental
people (you can hear them talking in the sound)
could have payed forward and GIVEN it to someone
who is dying to have it and can`t afford it. What a
STUPID thing to do !!!!!!
sometimes I get to hating the human race, totally.
i.e. yesterday they reported that somebody tied a
donkey to a truck and almost killed the animal ( but
it`s being saved, slowly) ..... I give up, really !
