Nice!
Watch out for those trees though. Some of 'em will jump out and try and grab your plane!

Don't ask me how I know ...

I've done some digging- but I decided it'd be easier to just ask. I am trying to decide between the Himax 3516-0840 that's recommended, or try out an E-Flite power 10.
Here's my stipulation- I am considering propping down to 11 or 12 inches to increase ground clearance, and increase the pitch to make up for it. I do not want to necessarily increase speed, I'd like to have plenty of torque available for short field and float work.

Thoughts?? Thanks guys.

Phanntom- get a Tacon Bigfoot 10 for $18.00 you will Never look back...

http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m601-big...20-1100kv.html

I have the Himax 3516-0840 ....way over priced...and I wanted a little more Ummph

The E-Flite is nice too But way over priced ( and Mind you...Most of my motors are the gold Axi's )

Keep your plane light enough and you can get off the ground in about a foot and a half is that SHORT field enough?

The big foot is JUST right !! @ for 18.00 if you dont like it..get somthing else...BUT I Promiss you will love it !! 12x6 prop & Order or buy a 5mm collet style prop adapter. I use a 60amp ESC. because I wanted too...also the big foot CAN fly on a 4s1p lipo too...but on the fun cub..Absolutly no reason for that.

I like mine soo much I bought a back up one too !! putting my $$ where my mouth is

Pat

Weed89 - Just curious, Is your motor firewall mounted or intsalled like the stock installation? Also what would you consider the minimum size ESC for it? ~ Robin

It is mounted Just like the original setup...BUT I did buy a Metal Motor Plate..

http://www.headsuprc.com/servlet/the...for-Fun/Detail

There is a cheaper 1 he carries..but I liked this 1..even tho' a bit expensive

the website's info on this motor is a bit confusing..They say 51a continuious...but I bet that is not correct...I would have to throw my watt meter on it..to tell you what it is pulling.

But like I said I used a 60A & it comes home luke warm to cool...

I'll check out the Tacon motors. They sound pretty good. Is the trade (kv for prop size) worth it overall? Sounds like it has no problems pulling off the ground in no time!

Yes a smaller prop = much few prop strikes...the 13" prop would/Did break a few inches any time it struck the ground....so..good gear & smaller prop = better

PLUS- as these behind firwall setups make you put your prop adapter ON the Motor SHAFT....so, even with a 5mm shaft..too many prop strikes = BEND your motor shaft...I had to buy a arbor press to FIX/replace my shaft ...but thats a whole other story

and with a slightly higher KV motor 1100KV...there is about Nothing you cant do....from taking off Straight up....to flying as slow as a Slo-Stick...

Two feet max with a Parkzone 480 and a 13" slowfly prop. Never have dinged the prop but then it had so much less weight forward.

Has anyone here seen a source for the stock FC landing gear wire, just the wire, nothing else?

Thank you!
