I am planning on only buying the aluminum motor mount and that's it. I doubt I'm going to do any other mods.

It's a trainer type aircraft so there are a lot of things you can't do. Yes it will loop, roll, fly inverted and some other things, but that's about it. It's more about flying low and slow, but for it to be FUN, as in a FUN cub you needs GOBS of power, well in my opinion at least It's pretty fun to do HUUUGE loops (as big as you want them) and the power to take off in 2 inches It's not fast and it will never be a fast plane, but the engine can be used for acceleration and vertical climb. Mine is 90% (guesstimate) as fast strait up as it is level at full throttle

Good call. I used the smallpartscnc mount based on discussions in this forum. I wasn't fully convinced (nor still am) that it is 100% required but am happy to pay a few dollars for 'insurance'. Given that the newer FunCub kits appear to now come with a metal motor mount gives me more confidence that it is required. As with every part of this hobby opinions will vary which is great .

No, the horn is on backwards so the flaps can't get full difflection. Servo reversing won't help.

When re-installing, use a generous amount of med CA to fill in any gaps.
Sounds like a good technique. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Part number 44. They're supposed to angle back to allow full flap deflection. The original owner installed them angled forward which doesn't allow full deflection and because of the geometry they blow back quite a bit when in use.

Can someone post the spread of the landing gear at the axle as new from the box. My gear has spread and been bent back so many times I don't know what it was originally. I'd like to set it back and then reinforce it as discussed in this thread. Thanks

Use debonder (acetone) to debond CA installed plastic bits.

Now THAT'S a small motorhome!! If you can sleep in there you probably get to actually ride in your Fun Cub.

Have fun at the event, I'm envious!

Do you guys glue the two wing halves together or do you leave them as a 2 piece wing?

Glued together. The wing flexes quite a bit. I actually had to re-glue my wing tube near the tips.
