But The parts I bought have gone into my 2nd Fun Cub. Vibration is gone and if it comes back I'm sure it will be motor, shaft or prop problem. Real quality products and super fast shipping
Thanks lucky!

Cheers!

Hi and TKU for the links ... just must be a bad day for servers liking me. I tried the link directly on PC and MAC. Still same error message. Googled the URL and the text for Cub Landing Gear. Google comes up with the same URLs as you posted.

I will try again later.

You should already have the Optional Motor Mount (OMM)

And yes you can! - cover my shipping and I'll send you one. ($1.50) for US residents.

Cheers!

Gary
Gary,
Great addition to your range of upgrades for the Fun Cub.

Please put me down for an Additional Firewall to be fitted to the OMM that you previously sent to me here in Australia.
Please advise of extra cost for shipping and handling to Australia,
Tony

Hi Tony,

Sorry for the late reply - Cost to Australia $5 - and I'll refund any difference.
It was $3 to Norway today and that didn't include PP or my envelope.

Cheers!

Also, is David Brown, 4 1/2" tires correct?

I also have the gear, it's on the Got Rocks Cub now. I posted some info a ways back on the weights with a few wheel combos (it's a little on the heavy side but seems to be very well made)! ~ Robin

Landing Gear mod

This is the latest mod to keep the landing struts from spreading. Previously I had a rubber band going from one leg to the struts base and to the other leg (forming an inverted V) but didn't help much: when taxiing the struts were wide open and the FC was like crawling (the field pals call it "lizard"). All Up Weight is around 1.3kilos since I added FPV equipment (camera, Vid-Tx and extra battery) and needed something stronger than rubber.

FPV canopy

This is my new FPV canopy (idea stolen from this thread)
It's made of 0.8mm balsa sanded off to shape and glued with slow cure wood-glue plus for pairs of magnets to keep it safely on the fuselage. Pan-tilt stand is from HK but it won't be hooked to the rx - I just used it to keep the camera in place and maybe later use only pan servo.

Tony, that was too generous!

I will gladly refund the difference and I'll send the Firewall out today.

Beamen - you too! - I didn't mean to be squeaking with my post - very kind of you to do that.

Thanks - both of you!

It's the little things that add up to a great day...

Cheers!

Those wheels look to be pointing away from each other and would naturally move apart as it rolls forward. I have heard that the wheels should be pointing slightly toward each other (pigeon toed). Maybe if you twisted the legs inward a bit it would help.

Looking at the photo, I think you are right. Before the mod, it would roll ok. Maybe the added spring messed the weel orientation.

Maiden

I finally got to maiden my Fun Cub today. Amazing how quickly it gets off the ground. It needs less runway than my slow stick. I kept my flights to 5 minutes each to get some recharge data and get a better measure of what flight times should be with the way I fly. Recharging batteries now and it looks like I could bump up the times to close to 10 minutes. I'm using 3s 2200 mah packs. It's my first aileron plane and I need plenty of work to get some coordinated turns.
