Maybe... but not many.....

Considering the big prop up front, I would not want a motor with less than a 5mm shaft.

Yep, even with the 11x5.5 I'm running on mine (http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5690 ) I've bent a couple of shafts on less-than-perfect landings

BTW, with a 3s2200, that is *just* enough for some vertical. I could use a little more HP.

You should be fine with that motor. While it doesn't have the 5mm shaft, the 4mm should be strong enough unless you are smacking the ground all the time. Read the reviews, check the motor over and get a spare shaft while you are at it.

Does anyone know if there is any physical difference between the EasyCub and the FunCub? Are the tail parts the same? Would it be just as easy to modify an EasyCub like MM did?

Can you give me the link to your modifications?

Thanks,
John

How about a prop saver, is it possible to use one on a large powerful motor? I really have no experience with larger electric motors (or planes). I have always flown small speed 400 sized or smaller planes.

Just checked with MPX service and the FunCub won't be available in the US until late June. I still would not hold my breath. If it available this flying year, it will be a first. Love MPX products, but hate the waiting.

I don't know on what your impression is based. Usually, except last year, Multiplex has been rather quick on the market with their new models.

Hello everyone-- SARG5 from Kansas here.
I just found this thread- I am new to E-planes, New to Foam- Have been into RC for about 35 years. Hung everything up for some 25 years . Got back about one year ago. Everyone through cold water all over e-flite. So put 2 more nitro into my hanger. Still wanted to look at e-flite.
Then after 14 dead stick landings with my nitro, the last one into the water. I said !!??!!??!!?? . Purchased a EasyStar, found a guy that is the mfg. of leadingedgegliders.com help me out. We did most all of the mods. We were then into our Kansas winter here. I found a Magister on line, new in the box. Purchased it. Did mods and power upgrade. It is ready to go. I am still in the learning stage, even at 75 years old. So, will be learning on the ES. Kansas weather broke. two days ago I got in 10 great flights with the ES. What a plane. It took a few hard knocks at first, but kept on flying. Only a little grass stain on the nose.
I love the Multiplex line of planes.
Now a question;
I have another good friend here close to me, who also has been helping me get my feet back on the ground. He is a GREAT Nitro flyer. Has about 14 nitro planes. He wants to try a EDF of some kind, for his first e-flite plane. AT THIS POINT IN TIME, HE HAS NOTHING TOWARDS ELEC. EQUIP. So he will have to get everything.
I am pushing him towards the ES , but he wants to go faster and would like to try out a EDF jet. I am sure that he would love a Multiplex of some kind.
I am asking. What should I guide him towards. How about the Twister??.
Now, Remember , we are in Kansas . We have wind to deal with.
Also, I am building my own RC flying field here on the family farm . 11 miles north of Russell, Ks. Still work in process. The local flying club has been unable to keep a field.
I have cross runways. 110 X70 yeards and 90X60 yeards. Grass,
We do not have a club here.
Only requirements.
1. can fly by invite only
2. Must be a current member of AMA [ for insurance], because of cattle
3. Gate is not locked
4. come fly and have fun.
5. Help mow and clean up the cow poop.
WE ARE HAVING FUN

Jurgen,

The FunCub was suppose to be available in March, then April in the US. Now it is end of June, which I take as July. This is a four month slip, if met. Here in Wisconsin, our flying weather is finished by October. I know it's my problem, but it would be nice to have the FunCub this year. At 78 yo, time is always a factor. I really do love MPX products and their engineering. Their service has been a main factor in my interest. I guess I'll have to wait. Just not without complaint.
