Yep, Tehachapi sure is windy. I lived there from 1960-68, as a young kid. Now, I'm in Beijing, China. Same problem. Try micro/indoor planes. Your Dx7 is perfect for Parkzone RTF planes. All you need is a gym or large meeting room.
