For once in about two months, the wind is going DOWN during the day, instead of steadily going up to crazy levels!

70 degrees, sunny, no precip, light breeze, and just as pretty as a picture!

Here it says 7mph currently - the flag and the trees call that a lie. Probably more in the 12-15 mph range. Should be nice tomorrow though!

Still windy here, but not as bad as it was. Just took the Nano outside because I'm tired of crashing it into my walls. Seems to have gotten a bit of a vibration somehow.

Tomorrow I'm gonna go get me an Edge 540QQ with my Xmas money

BTW, I did not even think about the poor souls having such crud weather in the rest of the midwest to southeast regions, until I was on the drive home tonight -- so I'm sending my thoughts and best wishes for those of you who have been enduring the winter storm (tornadoes?!?!?) that swept in -- hope all is well!

I also have an MV. I can easily fly figure-eights in a 10' x 16' space & shoot touch & gos on the coffee table. It's just the ticket for getting in a quick fixed-wing fix on those craptastic flying days. Lately, I've been trying to pull off a harrier wall-landing with a vertical recovery. Still working on the recovery part!

-7F, clear and calm today. I had two nice flights with the EasyStar II this afternoon. I saved the face plant until the end. I got disoriented turning home to land and drove it into the ground. Luckily it didn't hurt nearly as bad in two feet of snow. The nose cracked and the weight of the wings broke the motor pylon. Thank goodness for Gorilla Glue! It's already fixed ! The irony is I was flying direct vision because I was afraid to try FPV on a new field. Flying FPV I wouldn't have lost track of which way it was pointed! Creamer's Field is great - lots of room and a packed ski trail to land when I bring it in right-side-up. Here's the good landing:

I like the way the wind whooshes when you speed up . Beautiful place, nice scenery.

gorilla glue is foam safe? You bet ! Rebuilt a friends Big power glider with it, a trick is get both sides of break area a little damp,i just use finger and put water on them, a little glue (it expands) and then tape over area to keep it from expanding out all over the plane. It is easy to sand,or trim with exacto knife. I then put light Spackle over area and sand . looks new.

Just took the Edge 540QQ and ASbach3X out for a spin. Wind chill was a balmy 14* so I would fly for five mins, sit in the car for five mins, repeat.

Even so, still a good time.
