Has anyone had a issue with the motor pulsing and not running steady? I've switched out the ESC, same problem.

Sounds like a bad motor to me.

I had some issues with my Don's Wicked causing the ESC to go into low voltage cutoff when flying at full throttle. I had to lower the voltage cutoff and decrease the sensitivity in order to stop it. When I went to 45 and 65C batteries I had less issues with the pulsing.

Looks like after my 1.5 flights I have to get this motor cut out and replaced
Which motor from Don's Wicked are you using?

I run the 4800kv but Don recommends the 4400kv motor for the stock fan.

Hi guys, So it begins.

Picture #1: I broke off the Servo Tray & Elevetor Tube Guide Bracket (broke off clean) and reglued both using Hysol glue.

Picture #2/3/4: Test fit of the Hyperflow EDF unit.

Picture #5: The cut access hatch (came out really clean).

Next would be the EDF unit mounting rails and the rest is history.

"Still need that wicked motor & New Castle Creation 40amp ESC".

All day I have been thinking, Should I repaint it or should I not, To be or not to be that is the question??????

I picked up a bunch of soldering supplies (heat shrink,solder,soldertips) as well as a new watt meter(just an eflite unit) and hopefully tonite if its not to late i'll run up the dons and make sure all is well and get some numbers on the cut down rotor.

It seems based on the specs you would need a higher rated ESC for that motor. Are you guys having success on a 40 amp ESC with the Wicked?

Based on my experience you would be better off with a 45 to 60amp ESC. At 40 amps you'll be at the esc's limit.

You guys are right, will have to call tower and revise my order to a 50 or a 60amp ESC (I originally ordered the 40 because I was going to use the stock motor but I guess the status has changed since Im going with the wicked motor).

Im using a turnigy plush 60amp

I was going to start machining the alum spinner I was talking about and guess what, the center screw hole on the new adapt that comes with the fan is off center

This sucks big time as I have a very unbalanced shaft adpt and on top of that my alum spinner mod is being delayed till I figure things out
