The edf unit install was a breeze and the revised edf unit is so much easier to balance and the only thing I changed was a machined alum spinner made by me.

I flow the hell out of this thing even had a few cartwheel landings (trying to land this thing on grass taller then 6" can be a bitch sometimes), this thing is like a flying tank and can handle some beating.

Anyways I just got my new evader kit (this one was my experimental one) so I'm going to cover this mod in detail.

Stay tuned
Well, sorry to crash the party but I just opened the new kit and it has quality issues on it so we will have to wait a bit longer till I resolve it with tower.

This sucks but it is what it is

Nice, I'm off this week but don't have my launcher buddy ready, worse is my sister in law and hubby coming to visit (=zero flying)
Hey, what were the quality issues you found - have to check mine too...

I use an AR6000 in mine w/ a Dx7. I would use that or a AR6200 since this can get some distance from you. Not sure I would trust a 61xx with this.

1. When ail are centered the control arms are not parallel to eachother, 2. Rear battery tray bulkhead not installed properly, 3. Canopy frame chipped, 3. Cone adpt had damage.

Never had that many at ones in a kit, normally its one or two things.

LOL, My launcher buddy is my right hand and bungee.

I take it your a tomcat fan since you have the badge on your profile, the 14 is a nice jet, one of my all time favorite.

Oh definitely not a 61xx. I will probably get the ar6210 like you said but i was wondering if it would need the carbon fuse rx, ar6255.

Wow, those are some issues there! Gotta take mine out of the box and check.
Need to also find the best fan/motor combo for that one...

Got so used to by buddy hand-launching that I forgot how to bungee correctly

Was a little kid in VA Beach when my grandpa (Nave ret.) would take me to the field at Oceana Naval Air and I would watch 14's simulate carrier landings all day long. My grandpa would go shopping on the base and come back to get me (couldn't do that anymore today , don't know if my mom even knows that fact!).

You won't need a carbon fuse receiver but i would recommend a full range rx with satelite.

Launching the evader using the bungee is too easy:

1. Push the bungee stake angled 45deg. away from you.
2. Unwind the bungee so that the launch would be in to the wind.
3. Do the usual flight checks.
4. Grab the tow ring and walk back to stretch the bungee 25 steps.
5. Connect the tow ring to the hook under the wing.
6. Hold the model waist high off the Side of your body and with the nose up about 35deg and wings level give it a push as if it was a bowling ball and away she goes (you can follow the picture in the manual but I like to hold it around the fuse where the fan intake is).

After that its rock and roll.

BTW, that's cool that you got to see the 14 like that, lucky you

You can always build a bungee launch with some PVC tubing or buy one from FanJetsUSA. They take any guesswork out of hand or bungee launching. I lost one of my early Evaders tring to bungee launch out of my hand. One of the wing tips dropped and she cartwheeled. I have used the launch ramp ever since.

holding the plane being hooked to the tow ring getting ready to launch, you need to make sure the wings are level as you launch it, it is key to a good level launch.
