I got my response from Great Planes. They said ship my kit back to them at my own expense. Then they'll evaluate and if they decide it's not a defect then they'll ship it back to me at my own expense.

If they do decide it's a defect and repair or replace I'm still out the cost of shipping the kit to them. Hmm.

Great Planes was going to replace my GP Siren Fuse. I received notice that it has been back ordered and I have been waiting over a month. I noticed on Towers website it says "in stock". When I called and asked about it they told me that the ones that are in stock are in the Reno, Nevada warehouse. Since the warranty stuff is done through the Illinois warehouse I have to wait until they get some in Illinois. They couldn't tell me when I might expect that to happen. Pretty Awesome.

Still haven't heard back about my Rifle with the wing snapped.

Hey rocco,

How do u like your siren? She fast? Unlimited vert? How many watts, prop, cells you running? Was thinking of getting one. My friend's blizzard is scary fast! 800 watts unlimited vert. Diving with power off, that hiss as she swoops by is awesome. Which one to get....hmmmm thanks

I wouldn't suggest the Siren. It's not built well. Three piece wing held together by wing joiners made up of popsicle sitcks?? Not exactly something you want to throw a bunch of watts at.

I fly mine complete unorthodox. I use a 36mm Turnigy inrunner with no gearbox. I run 7" to 8" props on it. The vertical is not amazing but you can't expect it to be with small props. It will reach about 100mph or just over with this setup. 4S 2150 about 1000 watts if I remember. There is very little room for cells in the fuse also.

I have heard good things about the Blizzard. I just got a Flash 2 which will take anything you can throw at it. I plan on running it at 1500 watts and flying like an F5D. I'm not really into the Hotliner setups.

If you want something with great performance plan on spending $350+

I have one of these -

Really under-rated glider, IMHO opinion its the perfect first hotliner, I run mine on 1400W and it has no bad habits at all, it'll thermal if ya want too but still leave blizzards for dead either going up or coming down. The crow works awesome too, it'll scream past at 100+, but is easy as to plop down at your feet.

I go to berkeley marina at a park called Cesar Chavez Park. Gobs of area surrounded by water. I can look over and see the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Was there today. Go about every three days. Also fly in Concord's Lyme Ridge Park. More hills but tall weeds to catch your plane...

Will pass on the siren then. Thanks for the heads up

Hey jacko, that thing will plop at your feet? Looks like one of those that require spoilerons, parachute, head wind, etc to come in semi hot!
Very cool looking bird!

Hey Greg,

We should hook up. My friend and i fly all the time. Lots of planes among the two of us.HL F-16, HP F-16, Habu, HL A-10, Blizzard, BH F-5, Rifle, GP L-39, etc you get the point. I've always thought about getting into pylons, hotliners, etc but so expensive and blistering fast!

Average video, cameraman had trouble following a bright yellow 2.4m glider .... But the landing at the end is with a tail wind simply so could land it in front of the camera man, its that well behaved.

Was at my LHS yesterday looking at one of these. ALMOST bought it, and changed my mind last minute for a boat. I'm going back tomorrow to trade the boat in for the Rifle. I was dreaming about it all night.

Seriously....I'm a sad affair of man.

Anywho, I have a cheap Turnigy inrunner, which I can pair with a 6x5.5 and MAYBE hit 100mph. 90mph for sure. With any luck, I'll maiden her tomorrow evening or Monday, mother nature permitting.

Went to the site to check the specs out on this plane and got nothing. What's the AUW, wingspan, (in inches) and length etc?

http://www.rcm-pelikan.cz/index.php?sec=product&id=7514 is the Manufacturers website.

http://www.parkflyers.org.nz/modules...C&type=&mode=0 is a build thread

A friend of mine also has an xtreme, running a lower kV scorpion outrunner at around 800W and it goes shweet too, doesnt have the same pitch speed as mine with the 11x8+2.5degree prop though. Anywhere from 800W-1800ish watt is about right for it. The wings are foam core, glass and obeche veneered, with a big steel joiner in the middle, I havent broken them off yet

Well, went and got my Rifle today. No time for build and maiden though.

For now, I'm just gonna run a Turnigy 2835-2700, 50A ESC, and 3s 1800mah. I know I have some quality servos in the drawer, just gotta hunt through it.

It'll be on the heavier side, but manageable. Thinking about it more, I'll probably be lucky if I hit 90mph.
