MEGA 16/14/2 for sale:

Found this in the Classifides. Don't know the person or anything about the motor, but those MEGAs are a little difficult to come by:

Hey Neil, keep us posted on those crazy Rifles - and how about some pics too!

Lots of progress on my two new ones. Almost ready for the clear coat!

Wow, those look nice. What's the underside of the wing look like?

Why not a design like this on the new 1m?

Attached image isn't one of the wings I'm painting now, but exactly the same colors/trim...

Yea, I'm not in love with the orange on the new Rifle M1, but at least it's not red. I don't mind red, but we do a lot of red and white airplanes and the marketing people are kind of tired of it. I'd prefer a fluorescent red or orange, but I speculate that would cost a lot more for the paint. Marketing seemed happy with the "burnt" orange.

Black's not a good idea. Extremely difficult to see obviously. The fluo red helps a lot, but again I'm pretty experienced flying this stuff now, so I don't think I'd have a problem.

Finally, we wanted a white base because it's the color of the gel coat and we didn't want to add any more paint to keep the weight down.

Ha ha.

I wondered what the first image was for.

Looking good. Keep us posted on what's going on.

Thanks Neil.

The first image shows the Tru-Turn spinner and all the openings it has for cooling ! Works great ! Just now I ran into a problem with one of the Rifles- while alplying CA to
the back of the motor mount I had some exess buildup of glue. When I
mounted the motor it was offset a noticeable amount ! So I
just made a sanding tool, mounted it on the Dremel and hit it.... Worked like a charm !

Maidened one Rifle today.... Almost lost control, it ended up the aileron servo is not strong enough.... Brought it back, had a stripped gear ! It was a Futaba S3157, now it will get a 3156 which is what I always use ! Must have grabbed it by mistake !

That was a lucky escape.
I had my own today. Lost sight as I made a lowish pylon turn back towards me. 3 or so agonizing seconds until I picked it up still knife edge heading just behind me but thankfully still about 20ft up. Flew straight over the pits. I've been keeping it close but the trouble is when you do so, you have little or no time if it disappears against the clouds.

I must be getting close to my nine lives by now. Time to test out the new airbrush.

Brought my new babies home after letting the clear coat dry a couple of days. Here's one of them with the 24-45-3790 installed - no spar. Trying out a Castle Thunderbird 36 - nice and light!

The other is going to get a MEGA (with spar).
