Question for HobbyKing SS ESC experts
I'm trying to use a HobbyKing SS Heli 70-80A ESC in an airplane. It's working fine except for an annoying "feature" which I can't seem to turn off.
Once armed, if the throttle stick is left at idle for about 15 seconds the motor emits a beeping sequence. If the throttle is advanced after these beeps it takes about 5 seconds to spool up to full power. From then on it works fine until the next time you leave the throttle stick at idle for 15+ seconds. Slow start is off and I'm not running in governor mode.
This is a bummer because you can't trust that the motor will respond after a period of gliding.
Anyone know how to disable this? Thanks

I have several of the Super Simple controllers that work well in airplanes. They all exhibit the beeping and response lull you speak of. I also have the card programmer and there is no option to over ride the problem that you speak of. Like you, if the model you have is actually labeled for use in helicopters it makes no sense why the ESC would behave in that manner.
