Christmas Present To Trash in A Few Short Seconds
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1204383Well Christmas came and went this year and on Christmas morning I found a super sweet Starmax he-162 edf under our tree. I couldn't have been happier, especially with this being my second plane to replace the first one that I totalled the engine on. So for days I waited and watched for the weather to clear up and we finally loaded up and went to the local field to try her out. There was a slight breeze as I taxied her a few times and pumped myself up for the high speed passes and tight maneuvers I was ready to do. I had a missed takeoff attempt on my first try as I ran out of parking lot, so I said "what the heck" and fired her up again. It was a thing of beauty. Her front nosed up in the wind and literally cleared the curb by like an inch. Then I completely froze up and seriously think I might have swished the sticks in circles. Maybe a sudden gust got her, or the electronics failed, but my beautiful plane went inverted and straight down at probably 30 mph from 150 ft. literally on the only sidewalk for hundreds of yards. When I got to the wreckage, foam floated by in the wind haha. It was soooo sad haha.

It happens, sooner or later!
Aw, Clay! Sorry she augered in on you. I had a similar crash with my foam Waco bipe...Changed the setup from 72mhz to 2.4ghz, went to the flying field and took off WITHOUT CHECKING FOR REVERSED SERVOS! They were. I know exactly what you mean about seeing the foam fluttering by in the breeze.
Keep that good attitude about it dude, and keep flying!
