Free DLG wing(s) to a good home
Hi All,
I have some 'seasoned' DLG wings that I would like to give to anybody who wants one. They have been used, so they aren't in perfect condition but still very flyable. One is fiberglass (with blue foam) and I have at least one more that is kevlar. They would make for a decent backup wing or a starter wing for someone who wants to try DLG without dumping a lot of money into it. They still have throwing blades in the wing, but they will have to be removed and moved to the other wingtip if you are a right handed thrower. I bagged these wings a while ago, so they aren't as nice as my newer stuff, but they were good enough for me to fly in contests. Reply to this thread or send my a PM if you are interested. Have fun. One option to prepare yourself for a heavy wing loading is buy a cheap 40 or 60 sized WWII model from someone like Nitroplanes or Raiden. I'd guess they'd have some flying bricks for under a $100 or so. Not heavy enough....add lead to the CG point. It would certainly prepare you for the "low" speed on finals and learning not to tip stall. Add some cheap retracts and if you land without folding them.... you win! All on a budget and not on a plane you put your blood and sweat into. Some of those models are so hideous, you'd be glad to rekit it.
 I believe Ryan purchased a Zero for heavy wing loading training purposes.
