OK boys, time to get back on the horse! I've narrowed down to these two 100cc airframes and really could go either way. Cost will be roughly the same and required components are identical:

Option 1: http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/103-Extra...d_p_15193.html
Love the 330sc and think it would fit my style of flying. A few pounds lighter than most in its class and is Garreth approved! Downside is there's Kool-aid on every corner...

Option 2: http://www.aero-works.net/store/detail.aspx?ID=484
ALWAYS love a round cowl and especially the 55. Weight is around 28 lbs which is what I'm used to, but flight characteristics are pretty unknown. I like it more because it's unique but at the same time don't want to get stung if it ends up being an IMAC only type flyer...

Option 1
This is one of the 3dhs planes I really like.
maybe gareth can give you a turn on the sticks with his.

Option 2..

I'm reading that "some" feel the plane doesn't "3d" very well, but then I believe a plane only 3d's as good as the pilot.

Having said that, I love the looks of the plane, but she is sorta dark. Might be somewhat hard to see at times..much like the bat plane can be hard to see. But then again, all that Red, if its bright, will help it stand out in the sky.

Perhaps there is a third option.

The 100cc Aeroworks Edge 540, lightened Gino style.

Bah, I had forgotten the double layer security. Post edited with updated credentials. Two sets of login info needed.

The Yak is certainly more sexy in looks, but I like the 330SC much better. Maybe they'll take the order with "leave off the decals" request. They have a "Yellow" version shown without the graphics.

They don't apply the decals at the factory for the red either.

I think the Koolaid may be the better 3D airplane in this case.

The Good: The surfaces are really huge. The airplane has very minimal coupling. You know the CG is right when it rolls perfectly. It has plenty of power on a DA-100L so a DLE-111 or DA-120 will be monster power. It's very floaty, getting it to come down can actually be a problem.

The Bad: The wheel pants are just too flimsy. I'm buying a set that I will put CF cloth on the inside of this winter. The canopy hatch doesn't fit well to the fuse, they were made just a bit too wide, this is basically a cosmetic gripe. The wing is really thin, which helps snaps and 3D but you will have to learn to land all over again. The airplanes does not want to stop flying.

Plus Joe Smith keeps going back to that airframe anytime he wants to do something crazy. He can have a Slick if he wants. He's used the 330 at the King 50 twice. The airframe is clearly way more capable than I am:
Joe Smith Nall 2012 noon Demo, 3D HobbyShop 103" extra (6 min 57 sec)

I need to but or fabricate some parts for the LG on mine before it can fly again. I'll work on that this week if I get spare time.

Anyone flying after work today?
I'm bugging out of work around 2 and then hitting the field by 3 or 3:30

I'm going to put my ol Prototype Green/black/white EG 57" MX2 in the air as well.
Haven't flown it in a loong time.
