Ya, I think I'm going to practice 4 point rolls myself.
They look easy, but it's harder than it looks to get it right.

Do you think the book is worth the $125 amazons asking?

I do fly like Flop....every night in my dreams and I also have a battery that never runs out of juice.

I got my copy of the book straight from Scott's website.

I don't think it is worth $125, but there is definitely value to be found within its pages.

Weather looks lame this weekend. Anyone got any flying plans?

I'll be there if the weather cooperates even a little.

I am now the proud owner of RC Pilots Guide. Thanks jholen, I just saved $100, it's feels like I'm in a Geico commercial

I've analyzed a sound file from a recording of Robert's Nemesis flying low, right over a camera mounted on a tripod in the middle of the runway.
The doppler readings indicate his speed is 115 miles per hour.
These passes were made into a head wind of about 5-8mph, so the Nemesis may be a little faster.
I doppler tested the Mini Mustang on 3 cells and got 95 mph from that.
We'll have to re-test on a calm day and see if we get different results.

4. Practice your point rolls! (Same goes for 3D)

I think once you fly a plane designed for pattern, you will immediately notice the difference between it and the typical Extra/Edge style planes we all enjoy flying. My Vyper(s) fly a lot more 'precise' than do my other planes. It is very noticeable and really cool. I fly them with 3D rates, but if you fly them on low rates, you will see how the setup of the plane and the plane itself compliments your ability to fly precision.

Scott Stoop's book: http://www.amazon.com/Pilots-Guide-M.../dp/0976711400 has some good info also.

I'm no expert and this is just my opinion.

I like the idea of working on precision. I'm sure the discipline will help my 3D efforts too. My next plane will be F3A. I started poking around the f3a-pattern-731 links and spotted a Wind S Pro 2M that I'd really like to own. It's pretty spendy so I also checked out your Vyper on 3d hobby shop. That looks pretty sweet too and the price seems like a better place to start. I also like the way it blends f3a and 3d.

I think that pretty much matches my radar readings.

I'm flying with Robert at MARC tonight, the wind is reasonably calm and there isn't any rain in the forecast.

Thanks!

And why didn't you accompany your bro to Nall?

Just in case any of the guys from ORCA's field are lurkers here, I just wanted to let them know that I appreciated their hospitality the day Deanna and I showed up at their field for the maiden.

They made a stranger feel like a member

much appreciated fella's.

Many thanks to Flop and Rick for hosting us
Appologies to Nate for not being able to get there sooner that day before he had to bail. Ferries were ultra busy that day!
