Thanks to Grandpa Tony

Greetings All,

Many thanks to Grandpa Tony for his post regarding changing the date/time stamp on a keychain or similar camera. I have two Turnigy microcams and could not get the correction made until I followded Tony's instructions.

Now I don't have to add a note to each video I send out saying "the yellow date/time stamp along the bottom right of the picture is incorrect"

Regards,

Desert Hawk

try naming the file "tag.txt" it worked for me
I had to play around with the order of the date/time format
to get the right one for my keychain FOB

My wifes pen camera has and option to put a "n" or "y" at the end of the date to turn off and on the timestamp on the video.. I have not had a chance to try it on mine. Out of town right now.

I feel ya pain guys.

Mine doesn't match any of the 1-7 options on chucklohr's site . It has a blue light with yellow writing on the bottom RHS. I've tried the auto programs, TAG, timerset, time .txt etc etc etc and still no joy.

If anyone has had a win with the above blue light, yellow text bottom rhs cam can you please help (the closest is version 5 on chucks site)

I set up the MD80 cam quite easily so I've got an idea where it is all meant to go but still no joy.

frustrated..

one thing I noticed about these cameras is that they need to be formatted in windows and not in MAC OSX after its formatted in windows I can read and download the files no problem. The "tag.txt" file must be in the root directory and you have to eject the disk, whatever letter that may be, turn the camera off, then turn it back on .. take a picture.. connect to the computer, download the picture check time stamp, repeatů til it works..
good luck guys..

I'd suggest putting a piece of tape over the micro SD card, mine came out and is now lost in the great wide world somewhere.

you drag or paste the "tag.txt" file right on the drive letter your computer assigns your camera as… after formatting.
that is the root drive.

like if you were to paste a file on the "C" drive, that would be in the root directory. On a PC click my computer, right click on the camera drive shown in that window and paste the tag file..

I couldn't fix the date/time on my #6 Keychain Camera. Spent far too long on it until
I managed to reset my date/time using:

This file from "Oliver in Germany" via Chuck Lohr's site.

Just drag it onto your device letter in Windows, eject camera, power down, power up and record and it worked for me!

Chris.
