JC, Nice job!
I have the Ryan P-47, nib, plus the corsair. Just finished the hellcat & bearcat. My /5 has the same noise, at 1/4 thr. only. There is a thread on this explaining the reason. But it seems to happen w/certain controllers. Mine happens with a Castle Creations 25amp. Guillow's decals are a perfect match for Jim's planes. I purchase decals for the P-47, dauntless, & hellcat. They sell these for $1.50 per set. They are for the 1000 series Guillows. There pilots are cheap also. Very light 2-piece plastic. JC, I also use the wing tanks from guillows P-47 kit. Many of their plastic kit items fit Jim's designs.

That is one nice looking jug!!!
I fly mine on a Mega 5 turn as well. I get about 8 minutes of flight, and could pylon race it if I had someone to race against  Greg |

Nice looking P47. I have had mine for two year now and it
still gets some occassional air time. I have a Mega 6t in mine. I also have Jim's Hellcat, Bearcat and Corsair. My Bearcat has more than 130 flights on it. My favorite one of the group. I have a 5t Mega in that one and it is a real "brushless bruiser". I have 4 Castle Creations Pheonix 25 controllers and they have worked flawlessly with my Megas. Ryan P-47
Great looking P-47. Gabby Gabreski would be proud. As most of us know he passed away a few years ago to join hi comrades again.
BTW I was in the process of builing mine when I made a mess of the wing half. The balsa sheeting is a mess and when I attempted to cut out the aelerons I split the sheeting. I'm now wondering if I can start over with a new wing kit or do I have to purchase new complete kit.? The fuse turned out fine, but a little sketchy on installing aft fuse blocks. Can anybody clear this up for me? Thanks John Z. |
