My new EDF Sport Jet Soulcry

Hello guys,

I´m not new here on RCGroups, but defenetly in the EDF section and so back on this...

I´m going "a little" bit away from turbine flying.
All had begun with the Starmax F-18 Hornet 90mm my re entry in EDF the last year on November...The Virus begun and the decision to go on big EDF Jets

To build a new best performance, flying machine for that

So now, here is my brand new Jet, Soulcry (with the name spelling I´m not 100% sure, have a pair Soulblade, Soulgate, Solarsoul...)

It´s all composite molded.

My maiden flight with that beauty was yesterday.

technical data:

Wingspan: 1.75 m
Length: 1.74 m
Weight: 8.300 g with 12S (Lipo Weight 1.600 g) (not the lightest but I can get a pair gramms out but why? )

static thrust: 85-90 N, around 400 kph airflow, at ~36V, ~158A, ~5650W, 25.520 RPM

Powered by Haoye 5" Fan, Scorpion HK 4035, ESC Robbe Roxxy BL-Controll 9120-12 120A/150A Peak.

On 12S Turnigy 5000 30C at the moment, but it´s to much load on the ESC. Can hear it in the Clip,, on
3/4 Throttle max on this flight.

Not bad for a 30$ fan, but to much load I think around 160A on 3/4 throttle on this flight, thinking to go to 10S Lipo, or a other fan system...

Dynamax Extreme from XPS sounds not bad...will see.

Also installed today Robart Wheelbrakes because the never ending rolling is for me a no go

Some mods and rest paint, decal is going on the next days.

Enjoy the Pics and clip.

EDF RC Jet Soulcry Part 1 HD (5 min 29 sec)

Btw: sorry for the audio cuts in the main vid, but was first flight and we talked much xD
Next Part will be better for sure

Give me your opinion

It looks like, but it´s not a original kangaroo fuse

I like the Mig 29 Nosepart or Suchoi with the Nose hang down like my Soulcry it has.

The complete Jet comes from our molds.

It´s designed for both, EDF and Turbine.

Very nice.... great landing. I am putting a Dyn-E-Max or XPS fan on a FB Velox. Very similar jet to yours. XPS also makes a nacelle for the Dynamax fan which looks great. Did you make your nacelle?

Did you modify/strengthen the fan unit?

Hi RW-Jets,

It looks really beautiful and flies very well. I would like to know if you strengthened the Haoye 5" Fan, especially the plate where you use screws to attach the motor? Someone mentioned that that part seemed be weak structurally a couple years ago. Maybe the manufacturer has modified its design since.

Also where did you purchase these part: Haoye 5" Fan, Scorpion HK 4035, ESC Robbe Roxxy BL-Controll 9120-12 120A/150A Peak?

Thank you!!! Well done.

Very nice. I might have an opportunity to get a Fiber Classics Kangaroo jet. Going to go with the XPS Dynamax w/nacelle on 12 or 14s. That was sweet video and it sounded great.

Hi thx for the comments.

Many News...

Yes I have strengthened the motor mount with an aluminum plate. The shaft you couldn´t use worst part on this fan...But we have an engine lathe and so make a new one no problem from steel.

Haoye fan is from HK; the HK 4035 from Belgium rcmarket or can get it at fast lad performance UK; the ESC Robbe Roxxy is from my shop near my town but I didn´t use this anymore at the second flight it blows away. Have written this, that I can only fly at 3/4 Throttle, so it was too much draw for that ESC.
Now I have the Turnigy Monster ESC and this thing is really Hugh and works till yet without any problems works great in my combination, but the weight gone up with the new ESC and Robart wheels and brakes to 8.9 kg

Have now 10 flights on the Soulcry and guys this thing is really fast must make new clip....It goes straight above 330 kph...

But my new Scale Jet is ready for maiden, but the weather is bad in Germany...Also need for that my EDF from the Soulcry and the Flight number 10 was at the moment the last one...

Btw Happy easter weekend

So here is my promised clip

EDF RC Jet Soulcry Part 2 (5 min 9 sec)

This is a mix of the flights 3-9
First on 12S than only 11S, see discription on YT.

Now can see the whole flight performance and hear the sound, much better than Part 1...

Awesome performance, stick a dynamax in there and it will be even better.

I'll try to Doppler it when I get home, but 205mph is unlikely it is fast though
