Special thanks to goldguy for the design, i have a very awesome little flyer for my AR6400 that was sitting around. It can fly right off my front porch and hover like a 3d plane. I'm thinking of painting it like a pizza

Specs:

Channels - Throttle, Elevator, Rudder

Motor and prop - PZ UM P-51

RX/ESC/Servos - AR6400

Battery - eFlite 3.7v 150 mah

Foam - 3mm EPP

Weight w/ Battery - 1oz or 27g

Very nice. Isn't an ounce a bit heavy? Maybe upgrade to elevon mixing.

i was trying to figure out how do do the elevons on the brick but then i just decided to go with a rudder/elevator format. it works just fine. later though i might stick my AS2000 on it and go with a elevon/rudder setup.

I flew it some more today and its crazy cool. it can punch out of hovers and even roll with tight rudder

At 94 sq in loading is less than 2oz sqft very reasonable.

If it is crazy on the rolling side, you might consider adjusting the base of your rudder angling up so that it clears a full shape elevator instead of having the elevator cut out for rudder movement. About 17 degrees dihedral would also tame it a little I bet...

Great job. Some video would be nice...

Cool. It hovers at half throttle? I thought the Mustang motor has only 36 grams of thrust! Cool. Video!

Sweet. Epp? Looks like depron. If flies very slowly even though much heavier then Vapor. COme on! Switch to elevon! Then you can roll… Just move the left pushrod from rudder to elevator and cut in half!

Why Elevons?

I rigged elevons on my first NutBall. I wondered what the fuss was about since I didn't think it flew well at all. Then I re-read the original thread and tried rudder/elevator. Ah big improvement.

Elevons would probably be OK with reduced dihedral - or none like a Pizza Box Flyer.

You can do rolls with rudder and dihedral. And on the nutball they're supposedly very axial and just like aileron rolls.
