This is what's used for the outer cables. It's Pearl Sadi Thread (coiled) fine gauge. It's usually sold in 2 meter lengths. Then cover with some 1/16" heat shrink tubing and you've got your outer cable. I use sevenstrand Duratest 40 lb for the inner cables.

That is better stuff, though Boullion will work

I looked at (and bought) the boullion AND the pearl Sadi Thread, but the one I got was WAY too soft and springy and wouldn't hold up to use as a cable housing

You would be very surprised how strong it gets with 1 or 2 layers of heat shrink on it.

Pat1967 used this stuff in the beginning, not sure now??

I believe pat would use 2 layers of heat shrink tubing on the sadi thread.

I'm still trying to find the stuff that comes on the OTO bike and the TT Nitro... it's a heavier spring that doesn't need any shrink wrap... the people that can get that stuff have been very tight-lipped...(I guess it's not to reveal their sources and sell the stuff themselves)

the stuff I'm looking for has a conical end to it which allows you to screw on end into the other and make a continuous circular spring (maybe something that goes around a motor piston)... you just cut the conical end off and viola! brake cable housing... I'll post a pic when I get home for those that are not getting it

Good find!!! Bobbed 'Garter spring' into google and got lots of choices. Ask the manufacturers who buys it for retail if they will not send samples.
Can't help further than that, sorry. Here is one based in LA that could help you http://www.centuryspring.com/

Akura2.... If that's what I think it is.... it's the same spring stuff they use in seals (wheel bearings... fork seals... just about all seals I know of) in 1-1 cars and bikes, sometimes if you can't get a replacement seal in time, we would cut a little off the spring, and wind it back together, fit it back in the seal and it would ussually help fix the leak, temporarly anyway....

ya.. that's what it's designed for... but finding a source seems to be a challenge... everyone wants you to send for a quote, and jump through hoops... all I'm looking for is enough to fix my bikes when needed, and maybe help some friends out..
