the EZRun 35A ESC isnt large enough to handle the amnp draw needed to spool up the gyro. the 60A should be better. but MAY be a smidge on the small side. If it shuts down trying to run on you. the ESC will be a bit too small (Amp wise).

but if it can deal with the amp draw, it should be a good ESC. 6000KV motor will be a handfull to handle i think. let us know how you make out.

This might sound strange but at what rate did you charge the nimh battery? If you only charged it at 1amp then it probably won't deliver enough punch. You need to charge it at 4-5 amps so it will deliver the iniial current required. With the lipos it will be a different matter as they will be substantially lighter and let it wheelie a lot easier (only charge lipos with a lipo charger at their specified charge rate though)

hi i have been charging the nimh at 1amp... was told not to put anymore than 1.5 amps in as i would kill battrie quicker .. should i now charge it at 4/5 amps the batrrie has been charged about 6 times ..

used to using lipos as i have these in my rc helicopters for the reciver packs and allways use a v balancer .when charging them ..

the only time I ever charge my nimh batteries that low is when they are used for receiver packs in my 1/6 scale truck or airplanes. generally then I want longevity out of the pack not punch. When charging at the higher rate, they down supply the charge for as long but, deliver more power while they do deliver.
I would suggest charging them at the higher rate now and you should notice the difference.
